I discovered tonight that the prop I'm making isn't going to work the way I want it to, I have to find an alternative way of making it. The coat is going well, though. Not sure if I'm moving quickly enough, but work is getting done.

Samurai Armor Drilled, Bent, and glued...now to prime, paint, add fabric, and lace...

Looking good Matrix! I am still in the process of my samurai armor as well. Most of my painting is done but still have to build out my helmet and lace everything up. I am still working on the wife's Harley Quinn hammer/mallet and it is more difficult than I initially thought it would be. But it will get done by next week, even if i have to miss sleep/work.

I think you've got that backwards

The SCF's meet-n-greets were announced in May, and they're been held on the same days / time for the last 5 years.

Sorry that it's conflicting! And wish I could come to this one, but I'm sort of obligated at the other one, being the Owner and all.

Other photographers are not "banned." They simply won't be able to take pictures of ONE of the large group photos - the one on the right of the hallway. They'll be free to take pictures of subgroups and of the large group shot to the left of the hallway.

The DC shoot is on the Hilton patio steps on Saturday. Subgroups will start at 3:30, and the big shoots will start at 4:15.

What are you going to bring out for the shoot?

Only have the one costume this year since it's our first time cosplaying.
I will be in my Samurai Batman and the wife will be in here Geisha Harley Quinn.
Will that be allowed in the shoot or is it strictly for costumes that are character accurate?

Gurutu: Perfectly acceptable! You'll be in the subgroup that I direct (Gotham), and then will be with the non-canon large group. We ended up having to split the big shoot due to the size of the groups we've gathered the last few years and the limitations we're facing on space. You'll be in the group with all custom designs, film, television, cartoon, videogame and figurine (like Ami Comi) designs, so you'll be in fantastic company.

I'm interested to see how these photos turn out with all the construction and stuff going on. Seems to me like it could make for some cool backdrops. What do the photographers usually charge for the big photoshoot prints?

I've never purchased one of them. I usually have someone in the crowd taking pictures of their own. Might have to check this year with the big Marvel kerfuffle.
