Too bad I can't get a TDY to McDill, I could do your helmet for you.

Easiest thing if you aren't jumping with it is to just put your A frame straps between the liner and the pot. The proper way is to drill out and reinstall some rivets but you risk ruining your liner.

So, I don't pollute your build I'll take some photos of my helmet and liner and post them in my TFA build.

Ah, you just don't want to jump over to my neck of the woods.

Here is the cheating way first. Just insert the A yokes that attach to the leather chin cup between the liner and the helmet.

The leather liner chin strap, "the strap on the front", attaches at the same point on either a ground or jump helmet.

It looks like the 'snap' in your helmet for the leather strap is slightly larger than on mine. That will be an easy fix to enlarge the metal wire clip.

Now the properly set up liner looks like this.

First, the A yoke must be mounted between the liner and the suspension harness mounting brackets. This requires drilling out and then replacing the rivets. The minor danger here is a spinning rivet.

Second, The ground chin strap must be replaced with the airborne chin strap. The strap is sewn to the steel pot and has a snap dot that must face the inside of the liner and away from your head.

Third, with the canvas strap now installed on your pot, figure out where the other part of the snap should be mounted on the liner. Drill a hole and mount the snap. The danger here is cracking your liner.

Hope this pollution helps.

Hey guys... so I decided to do do a speed build of a new helmet. It was the pep file done by Kaos. I had to get this done quick, in time for MegaCon... took about 3 days. Maybe less. Here are pics of the progress up until finished. I am not bothering with the leather bits until after Mega.
