Blade Runner Miniature gallery

Within a year after Blade Runner was released, Forbidden Planet (the New York sci-fi/fantasy shop for all things - at that time in their old digs) had the large Spinner miniature with Deckard and Gaff figures on display in their window. It was a miniature you could see had suffered a beating - but a beauty, for sure. I couldn't take my eyes off it.

absolutely awesome. these guys were crazy building all that stuff. makes me always a little sad to compare these love to detail with the cinema today. unfortunately I am not a big fan of cgi. I know you can do amazing things with it, but most of the times it looks kind of unreal. but these buildings and stuff from the old movies got a kind of ... mass. you can feel it is existing in a real space.

Much as I'm a 'repost bummer' ;-) I think this is a series of shots that for some time will be new and awesome (well, always awesome) to a lot of folks each time it comes around (see the first post after the original, and someone probably wouldn't know to search for such a thing...). That said, the last thread *is* only a couple of months old... cough cough ;-) (the prev is about a year ago)
