Back home from a long weekend of work and got a little time to finally finish setting up the the big computer and software, instead of doing it on the laptop I can now work on things without lagging or shutting down
Starting another re do on the left hand ribbed hose
Found part for the vocoder grill, another member found this grill for another prop, thanks to Ryan Clinton for the find. I’ve noticed it’s the same grill on the vocoder base on the reveal
I would probably say so, until I get my lathe up and running and make some speaker bits I couldn’t confirm, but my gut says a big yes due to the size of the holes and the available mesh at hand while making it
Got my rubber moulds back, first test of my design a little clean up and redo on the brass disc theses should be ok
Thanks to @skunky at CFO for the rubber moulding, thinking I might need some more making
So I was looking at some more radios online and I was wondering if only a portion of that mesh is usable for our vocoder parts ... because it seems the pattern changes a bit in size and shape from left to right ... or is that an optical illusion of the posted pictures?
I really think it’s an optical illusion, but we don’t know how the mesh was handled and removed from the radio, it could have been battered/thrown around the workshop before it was used
I’m going to try some close up pics at different angles and I’m also going to give a piece a flattening to see different options of fitting for the right look
