Angel stakes

Hey has anybody ever attempted the retractible stakes Angel had strapped to his arms in "City Of"? Could be a cool costume detail.
 
Sorry to resurrect an old thread, but ive only just seen it.
I made a pair of stakes for my 2nd year of College (about 5 yrs ago)
