Hi all, first time posting any of my projects but I thought this one was worth posting and some of you would appreciate seeing it.
I've recently finished (well very nearly) a full metal Airsoft pulse rifle with aluminium shrouds. It's been something I've been working on for nearly two years on and off but now it's finished and all come together it's been totally worth every minute!

Parts used:
-WE Tech/cybergun gas blowback Airsoft Thompson m1a1
-APS cam870 gas shell ejecting shotgun
-Genuine spas 12 CAGE and pump grip
-Genuine Thompson m1a1 wood grip
-Metal upgrade barrel for the Thompson
-Matsuo 10 hole barrel vent and stock
-Noble sling
-SD studios grenade launcher block
-Majenko counter with movie mode 95 & Airsoft mode 30, for 30 round bb mags

Lucky find on eBay about 10 years ago, won the auction for around £100!
It's been used for a pulse rifle before but still a bargain even at the time!

Thanks! I have to give it a full strip down and paint all the black parts including the thompson and then weather at the weekend then i can call it done.
I will return with a few more pics when 100% complete.

You've been busy!

Most impressive!

Outside of the SW universe, I'd say this, and the BR blaster, hold the top to slots for most loved movie firearms.

Great build, the ally shrouds are quite superb. I've looked at going the GBB route with the Tommy gun and going the 870 route too but budget prevents. I may retrofit at some stage. I'm not sure how to get the 870 operating, even single rounds. Always nice to see a fill build with pics, it's very intetesting and inspires me to get on with mine. You've got a pulse rifle to be very proud of and clearly some serious panel beating/shaping skills.

Thanks for for that! I am really proud as hand made shrouds as they were for the movie are rather rare to see and rather hard to make!
I'm not sure what pulse rifle project you have but i have also fitted a gas airsoft shotgun into my modified snow wolf too

so if you ever need any help or got a question then send us a message an I'd be glad to assist!

Credit where its due. That is a great build, gbb will be fun shooting it.

I'll be picking your brains. I was going to do the usual snow wolf upgrades dremelling SPAS shield, sling mounts, fit 30mm granade in dummy launcher and colour change.

I'd really be interested in how/what you used for the shotgun. That part is very much an afterthought. I can relocate batteries, etc and prepared to wait to buy the shotgun to install. Yours looks subtly molded and correct to me. When I can i think ill do the gbb Tommy gun. I've got a fair bit of airsoft experience rebuilding and servicing plus shooting of course. I've also got a .50 cal umarex 12j pistol and 16j .68 umarex shotgun, both set up for cqb and legally held. I'd very much appreciate your input you work is clearly top notch. The M14A shotgun has always bothered me. I'd rather wait and get the parts to do it right.

I also used a gas shell ejecting airsoft m870 in the snow wolf but a different brand by pps

Dude.
I would LOVE to have seen how you did the Shrouds.
I have an SD Studios Rifle...one of the original 8.

Id love a metal shroud!

Thank you, that is very useful. I've been looking at 870's and it's the short one (mk1?) I'm going to have a think about going this route. The barrel brackets are your work? Nice workmanship. Is there a 3d rendering of them? I'd be prepared to pay to use it once for my own M14A. That is such a neat job.

Sorry, i wasn't notified you had replied! The actual barrel bracket is part of the snow wolf set up as it uses a different barrel to a thompson. The aluminium bracket which connects the shotgun to the thompson is my work, a little overkill now ive realised and didn't go that route with my new build. Its only firing bbs so the shotgun doesn't need to be bolted so securely.

No problem at all. I'm still mulling over the 870 conversion. It's something I really want to do batteries for counter and Tommy gun can be relocated and lipo for Tommy gun. Or I hold off and fit the gbb Tommy gun too removing all but 9v for counter. I'd like to do it right. I can make up brackets from liquid metal cast the tap it to fit threaded bar, etc. as you say it not under high loads. As usual its funds. The least I'll do is the 870 conversion as it is awesome.

One more thing if I may. Which 870 model did you fit? I believe there are 3 variants from very short to full size. The one you fitted looks spot on and whilst I don't mind cutting and modding I'd like to fit the same model and version. The short pump action with front pistol grip to 'pump' the shells looks just too short but could be wrong...and usually am...
I really appreciate your advice. I stand a chance of building an great M14A which I've always wanted since 1989 sat in the cinema in awe of the USCM and imho the best sci fi film of all time.

The airsoft shotgun i used is the second picture down at the top. It is the aps cam870 aow and is the short door breacher type. It fits perfectly with no cutting at all to the length. Obviously the front grip needs to be removed.

I'm always a sucker for a Pulse Rifle, especially one done this well with aluminum shrouds. Tremendous work and she is a beauty!
Cheers,
Kevin

Thanks for the comment. I've had one of the plastic shroud snow wolf pulse rifles for years so wanted something full metal and more accurate. Its not perfect but I'm really happy with how it's turned out!

That's most helpful. I'll be saving for one to install.
