1/144th Prometheus scratch build

Glad to see you're back at it. Your process is always amazing to me. Wishing you and your family well. May you have many more projects ahead....

Great progress and amazing skill.
Makes my work looks like a kidstuff.

But, please, please take care of your hands. You shouldn't give any stress on your wrist untill you got the operation and be cured completely.
I also worry about Mrs Gagg. My wife had the same many years ago. That was so hard for her.

Again, take good care as much as both of you can.
If you have to slowdown your build, you should slow down. You are only 46? Hey, I'll be 58 tomorrow if I am lucky enough to be able to wake up in the morning.

Best Regards

katsu.

Good luck with the surgery.

I had elbow surgery a few years ago when just using a mouse made me need to ice up. Post surgery I was like a new man -hoping you have similar results.

...and keep the build pics coming, you've created a bunch of junkies for your beautiful work.

A little late to the party here, but let me say the skill exhibited in this thread is inspirational. Thank you for post the progress shots and I hope the wrist mends enough to allow you to keep doing what you apparently love to do!

A.

Just saw your up from the summary mail today.
So sorry to hear tht, mate!
I really hope, the doctors help to recover. Working under pain isn't sustainable. Slow down and focus ☺️

I know how you're feeling. I developed tendonitis way back when I was scribing all of the details on my Stargate Anubis helmet. Hurt like hell.

Mojo has been a little scarce this last week even with all this new material
I have so much to do its a bit daunting to know what is the best logical way to continue
Overwhelmed is the word & pain from the wrist but i explained that
No pain = model
Pain = model with pain
Im sure a solution will present itself

Stay tuned

A little bit if finishing work left - bug great progress! I heard lots of good things about the SmoothOn products: Are you axoerienced with these?
Really looking forward the engines now

Blimey, even through the ain, you keep Going!

Had a touch of something in one of my wrists, about twenty years ago, described it to the doc as "feeling like grit around the tendon" when I flexed my wrist, the doc said it would go away, and it did, I hope your trouble can be easily Sorted!

Very Good Evening to everyone,

Thanks guys, appreciate the support as always

Remember
If you have no pain.......Model,
If you have pain.....model with pain.

And we still have 'NO BANANAS'
Enough poop.................Hold on folks
Not much coming at you fast.

My first try at molding from what i've seen online and stuff
Fix blank to poster board base with hot glue, leave plenty of room around the outside

main%252520body%252520001.jpg

Make a surround high enough to cover the blank, seal all edges with hot glue

main%252520body%252520002.jpg

Arrange required Molding gubbins, Digital scales, paper cups, palet knife, a mixing pot, your chosen Smooth-on product, in this case OOMMOO 25, paper towels and i have a manky towel that is more useful than you think, to cover the bench.

main%252520body%252520003.jpg

50-50 mix, 2 mins and in.

main%252520body%252520004.jpg

Bish, bash, bosh......got four done.

main%252520body%252520007.jpg

You can de mold in about 75mins but to be safe i left it over night
Removed the poster board

main%252520body%252520011.jpg

Bit of pulling and out popped the blank

main%252520body%252520012.jpg

Casting. Trimmed the mold with scissors, very badly and then mixed
50-50 of the Smooth Cast 300, mixes very thin so no vacuuming required
main%252520body%252520013.jpg

Two mins
main%252520body%252520014.jpg

Four mins

main%252520body%252520015.jpg

Twenty minuets later removed from mold and fitted
This stuff is magic

main%252520body%252520016.jpg

Finished more engine parts, top ring

main%252520body%252520017.jpg

main%252520body%252520020.jpg

main%252520body%252520021.jpg

These parts still need abit of cleaning but they pretty much came out perfect
Thats it for now
Take care
