LOTR - Sword of the Balrog - New project Complete

Well for my next project i decided to tackle the Sword of the Balrog from LOTR.

From seeing a very small concept drawing in the LOTR weapons and Warfare book, i decided to attempt a 'non fire' Balrog Sword.

The Book states that the Balrog can summon the sword from within himself, therefore after careful thought i decided to go with an all black sword, with a kind of burnt charcoal effect.

So the build took around two weeks, and is made from MDF core, bondo and sclupey for the detail on the top of the blade and handle.

The sword itself is 4 foot in length.

Very nice idea and execution! Are you even a little bit tempted to pour on some lighter fluid and see it lit up? I know I would be...

I have to say i am tempted to light it up, to try and achieve that more 'burnt' authentic look, but i'd probably set myself of fire in the process!!!! :lol
