GEARS OF WAR LANCER REPLICA
WITH BLASTER CORE 4.0

IMG_1877.jpg

This is my first ever attempt at a blaster mod/upgrade/build
This has been along time comming beleive me, i got this replica lancer when gears of war 2 lanched a few yrs ago and i always said one day i would upgrade it with sound and light.. that day has arrived..

This is a bit of a collaberation between myself and alex gordon, i contacted alex to ask him if he would wire up the BC board to my secification and he happily agreed, i was not familiar with the bc board at all and i knew alex had done a few blasters previous so when he agreed to do it i knew it was going to be done correctly and to the exact spec i asked, alex explained alot of the features of the bc and how it worked and i think we have used just about every feature of the board on this project from the ray progression to magnetic switches to semi auto fire its all crammed in there, so a big thanks to alex for the help here cheers bud, alex is also working with juansith on an exclusive lancer font with chainsaw for this project but as of now its not ready....

i knew what i wanted which was an accurate look to the videogame lancer so thats blue lights on the rear and sides of the gun, when i heard of the ray progression feature i instantly thought to myself " i wonder if that could be used to simulate machine gun fire" so thats what we did i asked for 12 yellow ray progression leds 6 on each side and the idea was to simulate the bullets fiering down the top of the gun (it doesnt do that in the game i dont beleive) but it looks awesome none the less and the gun still looks accurate when switched on it just adds a dramatic effect when shooting

All the blue leds turn on instantly when you pull the kill key and stay on at all times until the kill key is inserted, the barrel flash and ray leds work when fireing, thers a magnetic magazine switch hidden under the mag so when i remove the mag clip the gun wont fire until i jam the magazine back in this also reloads the gun and is an awesome realistic feature im very happy with, i can also reload simply by holding down the aux button.
thers an auto/semi slide switch hidden on the gun just in front of the trigger to switch between semi or automatic fire

the sliding handle is still operational and is for when using the chainsaw a feature i just had to keep, thers access to the sd card by use of an sd card extender cable which is placed just under the mag well hidden infact the only noticable difference from stock to mine is the tiny led hats i used on the ray progression leds but they are not really that noticable tbh as the are fitted deep in the 6 vent holes on the top of the gun the light from them illuminates the whole hole they are set in and turned out exactly how it visioned it

specs rundown

hidden recharge port under barel grip

1.5W Kobitone speaker

I am incredibly happy with how it has turned out i was a little sceptical about the ray progression but that was laid to rest as soon as i tested it out, it is now the the gun that NECA should have built to begin with...
again a big thanks to alex gordon this probly wouldnt have even happend without his involvement and i cant wait to get that lancer font, i hope to do a few other blaster projects in the future my next one will be a boba fett blaster with plecter labs bc

by the way for those of you who are wondering who alex is hes a pal of mine on fx sabers forum ;)

but i dont think i got the skill to do something like that and add weathering etc

just picked a lancer up at yard sale. Do you have a diagram of where all the screws are to take the halves apart?

sure thing i will upload a pick showing where all the hidden screws are they are all plugged with plastic studs to hide the screw holes you must remove the studs 1st to get to the screws this is tricky some just drop out easy but some can be a pain to get out

the white dots are where all the hidden screws are placed beware though ther are parts that need to be broken to fully get it apart
those are the very back part of the gun has a sort of cap on it and that need removed also the part under the bullet magazine that slides back and forth to allow you to remove the mag needs to be parted, i hope this helps you on your way are you modding yours? what you doing with it?

thank you so much for that! sorry havent been on in a while been working on a tron baton project. the mods i plan on doing are add LED's, extend the barrel, replace the crappy foggy sight lenses and adjust the front handle between the barrel and saw blade because my hands keep getting stuck in it or i can only hold it in a uncomfortable position.
