    Jan 17, 2010, 2:28 PM - Disney's Zorro Sword #1

I've been making my way through the Disney Zorro tv series on DVD. I'm intrigued with the simple rapier like foil that is used by Guy Williams and other characters through the series, but I cannot find anything remotely similar. Any ideas on where to find one of these basket-hilt swords? Thanks in advance...

    Hi,

    It's a nice fencing saber.

By nice I mean it has some engraving on the guard if memory serves.

Regular sabers have a smooth guard.

    Hope this helps!

We made a replica of this costume years ago.

Here's the sword we used. Not 100% but it's the type of sword.
    A fencing saber.

Edit: I stand corrected, no engraving.

I was pretty sure there was no engraving, unless it showed up in the second season or some of the one hour episodes. It seemed to be a fairly standard foil and it wasn't limited to just the hero for use. I do know that Walt insisted they use the actual blades as he wanted realism, even when they did the roof top fights at Disneyland. But this will help me track something down. Thanks...
