Hi everyone, I know I already had a thread about this but things got complicated in terms of not knowing what was happening with my suit. Anyway I have it now and I have started to puff pair the right arm

For the suit I am using tulip slick deep red for honeycomb and slick black for webbing and blue honeycomb.

I will be keeping updates on my progress of my suit :)

if i had to do my suit all over again ... i would not puffy paint the black honey comb . it is nearly impossible for me to get my arms and shoulders in the costume now that it became so tight after the paint.Your suit will lose it's stretchiness.....

Is the size of the suit smaller than your size? Because that could be the problem. But I have already started the black :/ so there is no going back, but thanks for informing me about it

I am sorry to hear that :( hope that you figure something out. Btw your suit looks awesome!

it is a taylor mcmanus print i still have some areas still left to puff paint after it was sewn... yours looks like a sanjou print ?

I have come across a problem when I lay down the puffy paint on the suit and wait for it to dry the Lycra soaked ALOT of it up. Does anyone else have that problem? I might not be putting it on thick enough. It's frustrating because I end up putting 2 layers of paint on, it looks good but it takes more time and more paint.

Hi, Yes you have to put 2 layers on the red honeycomb pattern, and only one layer on the black honeycomb and black webs.
On my suit I used puffy red and the first layer dried very quickly and flat. It went straight through the fabric and it's even visible on the other side.
I know it takes time, I have been working on mien for 10 days and I still have to do one leg, both arms and the mask ( which should take around 4 days). I have been working on my suit 3 to 5 hours a day.

check it out if you want, http://www.therpf.com/f78/cyup93-tasm-1-suit-sonjou-220970/ (it's also a sonjou)

This is how thick I applied the paint on the black pattern

IMG_0527.JPGIMG_0528.JPG

one 4Oz bottle did one and a half leg, front and back. So a 4Oz bottle can do quite a lot.
For a TASM 1 suit you need: 6OZ dark blue, 4Oz Black and 4Oz red (if you use black instead of dark blue, you need a total of 8Oz of balck)

i did a mixture of mostly black and some navy blue on my honey combs... most people never puff it twice .you got to be insane... or have some ocd...
i think if it soaks through just leave it as long as visually it still has the same effect remember it will lose it's stretchiness as you paint it.......

I have noticed that when I do put 2 laters on the suit becomes less flexible so I think I will just stick to one layer
