The honeycomb it really cool. It would be awesome if there was a way to make them light up lol.
I wish. Hopefully I can compensate that with the glow on the rest of the costume.

Why not follow suit with the white and black and make the frames black?
Well, this is partly where 2099 design comes in. I'm going with those style of frames and a hybrid inbetween the 2099 spider and the future foundation one, where everything will be red.
Your Work is amazing! if you had a YouTube channel talking about your suits, maybe a tutorial here and there, that would be fantastic!
Thank You. I appreciate that very much. I think I'd make an alright Miles Morales for a fan film. But I'm not THAT dark skinned, so I could really only be a stuntman.
Happy After Native American Awareness Day! Or Thanksgiving. Whatever. I've got a pretty cool update for today. I've made a lot of progress on the mask. So, here's what I did.
1) I cut out the shapes from urethane with my handy exacto knife. To make sure the shapes are symmetrical, I drew out a frame for example. After cutting it out and making sure it looks good, I flip it and put it on the sheet of urethane. Then I trace it with sharpie and cut that shape out inside of the border. Do it on the outside and it will be too big, of course.
2) Then I mixed up my latex paint, placed the shapes on an old sketchbook cover, and painted them. You have to paint a layer on, wait for it to dry, then paint another. Then keep doing that until you're done.
3) Then I painted the chainlink pattern onto them, because I thought it just look a bit cooler. It adds texture and hides the brushstrokes. I thought about using a different pattern, but I didn't want to just slap patterns onto it.
4) Then I protected everything with gloss finish and glued them onto the costume.
I'm currently gluing the spider onto it again, since I messed up by throwing it in the washing machine and the latex wasn't protected at that time. I only did it to clean the spandex and make it darker and closer to the colour of the mask by washing it with black clothes. Totally worth it. Now, for the mask specifically, I went with option 1. The hexagon lenses had awful visibility because I used them for an awful Spiderman long ago and got glue on them. And the option 1 lenses are highly reflective and futuristic looking. So, after gluing and everything, I have my results here.
Hmm... Looking a little rough. Let's make it better. BAM!
I made sure the webs go into the frames, because if they just end nowhere them they'll peel. It's important that everything is "closed" so to speak. So, how's that?
