Some of you might have seen my previous Red Hood topic floating around this board, and lots of people have helped me find improvements to make on the suit itself. Things like a neck cover, different pants, gloves, etc. Here is the best picture i have of the suit as it stands now:

The biggest change to my armor will be a new helmet. As much as I love my 4th wall helmet, I tend to see a large number of them at Cons, and I really want my new suit to be unique in as many ways as possible. That being said, I commissioned a new helmet to be 3d modeled by skylu3Design, based off my own sketches/ideas for a custom red hood helmet. I just sent the model off to shapeways to be printed a little while ago, and I get to start working on it around the 20th of august! Bellow are a couple of renders/sketches that skylu3Design made.

I feel as if the suit is pretty under armored as of now, so i've been working on adding some more stuff to it. Specifically, shoulder armor;

I'm going to be replacing the pants I use on the suit, I'm thinking of using these;

Finally, to get that neck covered, i'm leaning towards adding this cowl to the suit, thoughts?

oh yes i have! although i didn't realize your hood piece was from the shop until the other day. I actually found the cowl at a booth at sdcc, and its been stuck in my head since. Since you have one, is it warm to wear, or does it breath well?

I actually haven't really gotten a chance to use it yet. When I tried it on, I folded the next down in half to accommodate my helmet.

Oh boy that helmet looks badass. Hopefully it'll be a very tight-fitting helmet. I see a lot of Red Hood cosplays with helmets that are ridiculously large, but this might just work! Kinda reminds me of the Arkham Knight as well :)

For the time being, the file isn't available vinhamon, sorry!

A large inspiration for the helmet was the arkham knight bucket, it's no wonder you see a resemblance :D

This is looking awesome great job. Great decision on the helmet/cowl design. Planning on using the same design in the future.
Please don't take this as copying, more as inspiration.

It might be. I'll have to talk to skyu3design about it, and even then, it wouldnt be released for at least a year or so

Thanks kapow7 and revolverocelot! Also, i'm glad that im not the only one underwhelmed by the Arkaham Knight Red Hood outfit!:lol

The helmet should be here by tomorrow night, which means i can finally start doing some actual work to it! heres hoping there isn't too much to smooth out :rolleyes

Visor/eye test. the material is some kind of reflective visor material that is usually used for Halo helmets, but i think it looks damn good

It came out wonderfully! and the eye material looks like it will work well too. But this looks like it is going to be a pain in the *** to paint! Especially the ear guards and vents on the jaw. Will you be doing it by hand with a brush?

I think im going to do most of this with rattle cans since i never invested in an airbrush. but, first thing is first, i've got to cast the monster and get a few helmets out so i can have fun with paintschemes/variations
