Hi Luke

The font used for Dumbledore's will is nice but it is different from Albus's signature at the bottom. I assume the will would be drawn up and written by a Solicitor with Albus just signing at the bottom. (Holy crap I'm talking about this like it's real !!!)

Anyway, the Dumbledor signature on the will looks to be a scan of the signature found in various HP books.

I thought I had the signature font but I can't seem to find it.

For the letter to Gellert I was trying to use a font as similar as possible to the writing shown on the screen prop.

You have fun on your vacation. I assume its a vacation and not a boot camp for delinquent young men. ;)

Thanks Charmedone. I used a font called Texas hero and tweaked it a bit here and there to look a little more like real handwriting.

I'm still working on the final version.

You might want to tweak the "s' in Albus in the letter! :p

And it's sorta vacation, I'm working at Surflight theatre on LBI which is on the beach, like, ON the beach, but it essentially IS boot camp 6 days a week for people who are financially stupid enough to go into theatre :D haha. It's fun work though... I :love being there
 
@ Barney , I ended 2nd, But it was a Dutch contest and I'm from Belgium and they didn't play the game very fair... But I won the new Harry Potter 7.2 game for playstation 3 ;) Thanks for asking !

DUMBLEDORE'S LETTER TO GELLERT

Here's the final version of the letter. i made the text a little heavier and more like handwriting and revised the s in Albus.

Looking at the screen shots the letter appears to be printed on some sort of heavy grayish paper.

DUMBLEDOR'S LETTER TO GELLERT

Man do I feel dumb. I thought I had checked over the letter before I posted it for errors but woozlemom found a shi...aaa boatload of typos and mistakes.

I made the corrections and attached the revised letter to post #1649.

So sorry about that.

Thankyou to Woozlemom for spotting the errors and letting me know. She was very gracious in her pm to me about the typos. She is just a very nice lady. I'm glad she is part of our little community. (y)thumbsup:thumbsup

Please don't feel badly about typo's. You are right that sometimes we are too close to a project to see it.

Many years ago, I worked at an insurance company and I had the "honor" of sending out reminders. In those days we had no computers or spell check. It was a typewriter and white out. I sent out a reminder and got it back corrected :eek so please my friend, you can't always count on me to be correct LOL
 
Hinky. The thread seems to be growing by leaps and bounds! New people with great new ideas. Your thread is as strong as ever. I again thank you for your great work and talent that started all of these great posts.
 
Its not really my thread anymore though. It doesnt feel as much like "home" now that it isn't Hinkypunk's Harry Potter thread.


Rob - Yes I've recoverd from my party. Currently I am in Chicago Illinois. I'm ready for my traveling to be over.... I want to go home and sleep in my own bed!
