It's getting there. First wash added. Blue looks better. I really like the silver/metal color right now. Still more to do to it but I am surprised how much one wash added to it.
Moar paint! Almost there. Some scratches and scuffs to add. Maybe another wash perhaps, we shall see. Then I'll call the paint job done. After that I need to test fit and make some tube-y type things and also fill any gaps and also the spaces at the joints with...stuff...I dunno....gonna have to wing it for that part.
TEST FIT TODAY! I almost pooped my pants from excitement. Still have a lot to do before the convention. I might even skip making the gun for now just because it will be a pain in the fanny to deal with. We shall see. In the mean time....pitchurs!
Thanks for the kind words pals. 10 construction days left do finish up. Gotta hurry. Been working 6 days a week lately and I have this weekend off. Last weekend before the convention so hopefully it will be productive.
Suit is just about done. Just a some tubes and other fun bits to add. Hopefully will be done by the end of the weekend. Then I can start on the Gauss Rifle. Drew up the blueprints today. Never made a rifle before. Shall we see if I can fabricate and paint a C-14 "Impaler" Gauss Rifle in 5 days?
A few images from c2e2. Had a blast. So many awesome costumes running around. Pretty sure I saw a few RPFers there as well. Photo upload jobby is being a pain right now so I'll upload more later. I'm happy with the end result of the suit. The suit held up pretty well. I wore it for about 8 hours. Only broke a few things ha. And my traps sure are sore today from carrying the damn thing around all day. A few repairs to make and some modifications to the feet to make them more durable and I should be ready for the next con. I did some number crunching for those who are wondering. Total build time right now is about 270 hours. Cost is just under $500 in materials. And also the whole suit weighs about 37 lbs. Lighter than I thought it would be but still feels heavy after wearing all day and I would say somewhere around 60-70% of the weight is resting on the shoulders. The torso is the heaviest piece at about 12 lbs is resting on the shoulders as is the arms, shoulders, spinal column and chest plate. The legs and other pieces are attached at the waist.
