Oh hi RPF
I decided I would be submitting my Witchblade Una the first wielder costume for the contest, as far as my experience with costume building...I would have to say this one has been my most tedious project Everything was hand made from posterboard, super sculpey, the most hot glue you ever seen, glass, acrylic paint packs of feathers arranged piece by piece into fanned clips fabrics, leathers, scale maille and tons of makeup! I am sure i am leaving a bunch out lol but it was a lot of different odd items ... along the way I documented my project through my youtube channel
ERROR. - YouTube
Problems I faced during this build were , many hot glue burns, mild insanity... aside from that after such a rough summer ... building this time consuming project was actually very good for me ... it took a lot of focus ... like a big giant puzzle ....
As usual this was my first time trying anything like this ...so it was a fun challenge learning to make organic textures using glue ... i also found that glue is great for do it yourself prosthetic pieces .... make your desired shape on something made of thick plastic .. peel it off ... coat the flat side with a few layers of liquid latex ....and once spirit gum is applied it sticks fairly well!
If anyone is curious about where i got any of my supplies or how i did what i did i am more than happy to explain! ...for all of you that have loyally followed my thread in creation of this suit THANK YOU ... all of your support and hilarious banter along the way made it something to look forward to :> .. now i hope i filled this thing out correctly ...... BELOW IS MY INSANE PROCESS OF MAKING THIS THING ... in a nutshell of course ...(the very last photo is one of my characters creators nothin cooler than getting stopped by artists that made your character so they can get a photo with you!) ...... lol and i gotta say for a costume that does not cover much it is a whole lot of work to make it look realistic and i really wanted to look like I crawled out of the jungle and bam I was in comic con! well .. yep ... im going to make late night tacos now! so uh .. thanks again! and good luck to everyone running :>
