Here is the revised back design:
Kind regards,

I just saw the movie last night and I'm super curious too. Guess it was a Korean/Japanese souvenir jacket that the inspiration came from
Vtg 40s 50s Souvenir Tour Jacket by JuneeMoonVintage on Etsy
The jacket has a similar cut of like a hybrid baseball satin jacket with an auto race suit. Very cool jacket...look forward to seeing the prototype
That looks great Indy!! I'm really looking forward to a prototype as well. I will comb over the screen-used jacket in the pictures and see if anything else needs changing. Looks awesome
joined the forum just to join this conversation. I want the jacket and am willing to pony up!we'll see where this thread goes!
From what I understand, the copyright for an item like a jacket will never hold up. There's a dense legal brief written about it here:
The copying of fashion design originals – “knocking off” or “affordable interpretation”, depending on your point of view – has been around as long as clothes have been considered not just a way to protect oneself f
Though I'm sure a lot of you who are familiar with this know that already...
The scorpion itself can be copyrighted I suppose but it's a pretty generic design...
Just throwing this out here since that link to the wardrobe doesn't have the info.
If anyone wants the exact jeans, they are Acne brand, and I'm about 90% sure they are Acne Max slim jeans in the Raw color. I compared the pockets, threading, color and fit, and this is the closest match I found. They look black in the movie a lot, but on the Golden Closet they're clearly very dark blue. They could also be the Cash color, but I'm leaning toward Raw.
None of the sunglasses suggested by the Steal the Style post are even remotely close to the glasses in the movie. Anyone got any better guesses?
Also the watch they suggest doesn't have numbers on the stopwatch, which is the more important part in my mind (and may not exist in a real world watch).
The shades are the Selima Optique Money 2 Aviator. Haven't been able to find them for sale yet.
here's the link to the costume layout:
Do your best Ryan Gosling impression with ‘Drive’-inspired style
check that - a lot of that stuff is made up...sorry
check out Steady Clothing Inc.. they have the exclusive to reproduce the jacket. they will be taking pre orders soon.
the scorpion looks great....i love the jacket and would be interested depending on the price and all
looks like hollywood is going to do their own run of Drive Jackets
"When he chooses to wear a jacket (or any shirt at all), the Gos is something of an outerwear enthusiast — he's regularly spotted around town in various plaid numbers, and who can forget that red-piped bomber in Blue Valentine? But Gosling majorly ups the ante in Drive with a white satin quilted jacket designed by Erin Benach. Our friends at Grantland caught up with Benach to discuss the look, and she offered a few fun facts: Gosling's contributions were inspired by the fifties Korean souvenir jacket he wears in real life; the scorpion on the back was a joint suggestion from Gosling and Nicolas Winding Refn, and it's a reference to Kenneth Anger's "Scorpio Rising"; and Benach made thirteen of the jackets for filming. Most important: She says you may be able to buy it soon. White satin'd wannabe Goslings, coming soon to a million bars near you. [Hollywood Prospectus/Grantland]"
I'm new here, but not new to the world of screen wearables. I'd love a version of this....I want in ! ") Love the work done so far gang. The film is a new favorite of mine, something RARE ( not since Manhunter or Heat have I dug a heist film like this!)
I also wish they'd get them on the market before Halloween![]()

Went and saw the movie and loved it. Indy has done a great job on the scorpion so far.I might be wrong but I swear I noticed that the shadow on the scorpion's back is 2 shades of yellow.

I'm still puzzled on where to get a "willaims" henley! the jacket will eventually be available to whoso ever wants it! but that henley....nope... 40's deadstock! not even deadstock swiss henleys that "mister Freedom" vintage store sells. Those my friends are one of a kind. I think the appeal strikes me more. I have never seen a henley that fit and looks soo great! any leads or anyone feel the same way here?
Good news guys... someone managed to purchase one of the original jackets from the film and will be providing me with high resolution photos and measurements. This particular jacket didn't have the embroidered back, so that will still be based on the proposed design above. We should be able to replicate the rest of the details perfectly now.
NOWAY!!! I wonder if this guy got the henley with it?! I wonder if this guy would sell the henley for some big bucks!
Steady Clothing Inc. will not have the jackets before halloween. expected by 11/15. $169
