Looking to make Anna's costume, however, I'm having trouble in finding the right pattern. Maybe someone can help me?

What are you looking for a pattern for specifically? The skirt looks a fair bit like it's a half circle with extra fabric to make some short tucks at the top. Darn I need to transfer this to my new site:
'+imageTitle+'<\/title><script type="text\/javascript">\n'+ 'function resizeWinTo() {\n'+ 'if( !document.images.length ) { document.images[0] = document.layers[0].images[0]; }'+ 'var oH = document.images[0].height, oW = document.images[0].width;\n'+
So you'd want pleats about an inch deep? two each side, so just add 8" to your full waist measurement then the rest as per normal. Circle based skirts though are very stretchy and flowy around the waist so you may not even need that much extra.

The bodice is based on "regional" dress but it could be based on a bridal bodice if there are any out there will a full back.

And the blouse looks like it could be any blouse with a very narrrow placket and mandarin collar :) I'm pretty sure there are a few patterns out there with interchangable collars and cuffs still.

Here are some things we have found:

This cosplayer went through with some patterns she thinks would be good to use:
Elite Cosplay | Next Big Cosplay: Disney?s Frozen (I would suggest the Leia wig though, because it has a skin cap down the back)

Here are some pictures of the bodice someone put together, I can't trace it to the origins though :S
pattern lookings | Princess

Here's a tutorial to do the scallop at the bottom of her dress:
Hetterson: Monthly sewing tutorial ~ The (EPIC) scallop

And the instructions on this one's interpretation:
instructions: I used Burda 7136, I took the basic shirt pattern for shirt A/B and used the pattern pieces for the buttons of C. I altered the sleeves a bit. If you are able to look at the back of the pattern, you’ll be able to see that they use a button to close the cuff, like they do in most traditional blouses I basically just skipped those steps and sewed it shut.
Event Horizon Cosplay, I?m procrastinating writing my college... She has lots of angles and such for embroidery :)

GOOD LUCK! We're working on it too :) We're excited Let us know what you find!

I wish I could sew and make this for my 4 year old daughter she just loves this movie and sings along to all the songs :)

I've just started my frozen project. My 7 year old girl will be Elsa, my 8 year boy wants to be Hans and my daughter wants me to be Anna. I'm going to try to go to disney world in October :) keep me posted in what you do for Anna. She'll be my last of the three so I might borrow some of your Ideas! I plan on staring my thread soon, just waiting on all my fabric to come in for Elsa!

I don't know how much help this will be, but here goes anyway.

The clothes the characters wear seem largely inspired by folk costumes. While I believe that there are similar costumes around the world, what I've seen most are the Scandinavian ones. In Sweden this clothing is known as folkdrkt (litteraly folk/people dress) or allmogedrkt (allmoge being a word for peasantry) since originally these clothes were worn by the peasant population. I've heard it being called "Bunad" in Norway, but I'm not sure if that term is representative of the entire spectrum of clothing.

The modern designs of these clothes are mostly made up in a time when national romanticism was running wild, or so I've heard. These days they're used as ceremonial or festive clothing, and they are actually an acceptable option in certain ceremonial dress codes.

As the movie takes place in the vicinity of a fjord and Norway is known for this geography I found it likely that they'd stick to this theme with the clothing as well. Swedish variants of this dress that I've seen personally varies a lot in color pallete, but the Norwegian almost always feature black as a primary color, which Anna's dress does.

Maybe there are patterns for Bunad dresses out there? The interest in these clothes is alive and well here and there after all. It might be a little difficult to understand for someone not fluent in the nordic languages though.

On the case of the width of the skirt, there's a scene in which Anna tries and fails to climb a mountain. In it the skirt is pulled wider than usual because she has to do some kind of semi-split to stay on the mountainside. I didn't pay a lot of attention, but it seemed to me that it looked like a half circle, as the dress looked like it took on a fourth circle shape naturally.

The scene is somewhere in the middle of the movie, but until the dvd is released I guess it's difficult to get any great detail out of it. Maybe the dvd will have some info on the extra material section though?

It does seem to have darts from this image

The embroidery also seems familiar. I remember seeing pretty much exactly that pattern before, but can't remember where. Pretty sure it was in some kind of relation to these folk clothes though.

I hope that this helped a little and didn't confuse anyone.

Good luck with the projects, everyone who is working/planning them. While I'm generally iffy about the 3d movies by Disney, the clothing designs they do I find really nice.
