Thunderbird 2 scratchbuild 40 inch

It is very difficult to make this as kit ,and it is not easy to assemble this because i have made some parts over again from scratch and make them fit to the rest of the parts.
I have made my model with interior and light in it and light at the wing tips
. PIC_0302.JPGThe board for the lights are in the head of the model,
And here is a picture from the parts that i build in to .A 15channel remote control for the lights and to release the pod what i planned to do with a solenoid .PIC_0380.JPGOn the leftside is a soundboard for the sounds that needed for lifting the legs sound and when the model is rolling .And this is going to do with a gearmotor that is connected on one of the rollers in the pod.

Hey Folks. Ben was working on a 29.5 inch TB3 for me last year. As you may have already gathered, Ben builds TB3s as well as the TB2s. He finished it in December.... sent it to me (from Netherlands to Australia) in December 2014 just before Xmas.
I did some slight mod's to it by adding some small metal tubes here and there, a little more weathering and added a thick clear resin gloss coat over the display stand base with a small metal International Rescue-Thunderbirds badge embedded.
The colour is a red/orange called 'Ford - Carnival Red' which is a vibrant 'orange-red' colour. My photos make the TB3 appear more of a dark orange colour. Ben is a very talented model builder....I am very pleased with the TB3...looks heaps better in real than in my photos. Thanks for building this 29.5 inch (scale 1/117) TB3.... All the best with your BIG Thunderbird 2 project in this thread.
Here are some pics of my TB3 built by Ben.

Ben, what a TB2...amazing. Personally I would forgo the interior and have the blackened out windows but Jeez what a gorgeous BIRD.

Simply STUNNING

Derek

..... YES....indeed. Definitely Fabulous Ben. I wouldn't mind one of those 40 inch TB2's as well.:devil..... although, if I had to get a big TB2 in 1/117 scale to match the 29inch TB3, it would need to be 25 inches long. The 40 inch TB2 is about 1/75 scale. TB2 full size is theoretically about 250 feet long, and the TB3 full size is about 287 feet long.:ninja

I had never seen this thread before and have been mesmerized by it. Absolutely brilliant modeling Ben, you have the gift. Brings back a lot of childhood memories watching Gerry Anderson masterpieces. First show I remember watching is Fireball XL5, followed by Stingray and so-on.

Here are some pics of Ben's 29.5 inch TB3 (Scale 1:117) next to my 21 inch IMAI (Japan) TB2 (Scale 1:144, painted NATO-Green colour).
The little Pink FAB1 car (Yujin, Japan) is 1:116 scale and the Yellow (Takara, Japan) TB4 vehicle is 1:144 scale......They look so pretty together.

PS: Ben's 40 inch TB2 in this thread is about scale 1:75. Hence, a matching TB3 in that scale will need to be about 46 inches long.
