Alright since I know some people on the board are looking for the Invitation letter that harry gets in SS. Having looked at Ramseys version of it I have most of it down I just need help getting the last parts that I don't have,

1. The bottom part of the letter, just need the text next to Dumbeldore's name
2. on the second page with the school supplies, I need to know whats under the "ALL STUDENTS MUST BE EQUIPPED WITH:" section

other then those I just need to find the font then I'll make it up in photoshop, then just need to get the right type of paper.

The first bit is Dumbledore's title. You can probably find it in one of the online fan encyclopedias under his entry.

1. One Wand
2. One [[hundred?]] XXX and [[pewter?]] cauldron
and may bring X XXX, either an owl, a cat, or a toad
The bit before cauldron may be a brand name invented by the prop designer. Two words are in quotes.

BTW, the letter may be handwritten. The descenders vary from letter to letter (even among the same letters.

for the cauldron this is what harry reads off in the movie:

"1 standard size 2 pewter cauldron"

I've been looking in the book for reference, and everything is their but I'm trying to get movie accurate cause I noticed a few changes in the movies compared to the books

There was a supposed real or copy of the real one up for auction on ebay a week ago.

Keep an eye on the UK ebay prop sales.

PM me if you want the pix from the auction.

edit,
Just checked the one partial screen cap I have of it from the movie.
The text looks rally close but not spot on.
Had to enlarge in in PS to see the diffirence.

Still a good refence, could of been a few hand written peices.
It came with the original WB COA.

Wow i must say, ive been wondering what these pieces actually look like in person and not in promo pics. Im pretty happy with how they look, i might have to pick up a few wands now. :)

Looks very good. I should try to meke one myself

What font do you use for the handwriting and do you hafe an idea where to get the Hogward sign on the top of the letter.

Kind Regards,
The German

As for the fonts I know the text at the bottom is used on other HP props so it should be easy enough to hunt down, the hard part may be that you will have to pay for it. :angry
Crazy Diamond sells all the HP fonts.

There are a number of sources for the crest at the top, getting a large clear one is the challange.

If you plan to hand write the green text you might want to enlarge it that print it out and use a light table to trace it out.
A piece of glass with a light under it works fine.

Well, the letter itself (the green ink) is definitely hand written. You can tell by the deviation in letters.

If I were recreating a close-but-not-exact-version of it, I'd probably use Crazy Diamond's Italic Hand (or Wizard Hand) for the text and Written Square Capitals for the block hand-writing.

For the bottom I'd probably use good old Garamond -- it's pretty close.

here is a high res image I found:

I'll start messing with fonts later, D6 what type of paper is that?

That seal is from the deluxe editions of the novels. The envelope and letterhead have a different design of the seal.

Crazy Diamond, though an excellent resource, sells some but by no means all of the fonts used on HP props. Here are a couple that use fonts from other foundries:

Nice scroll (and bank note.) Now what fonts are those ;-)

Me thinks that would go great with my Gringotts coins.

I'm guessing the paper is a handmade type that is semi transparent like the HERO envelope.

Hero envelope has a different flap and paper texture than the thousands of flying ones that are constantly on ebay.

The really fun part for the envelope will be the wax seal on the back. :rolleyes
