WIP My first female portrait sculpt - (Leeloo) Milla Jovovich NEW PICS 9/23

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is?

Wow, I can't believe you tore that apart. I normally do a 2nd one to work out kinks if I like how it's coming out and don't want to tear it down. But I do know what you mean by pics being deceptive. I had to work and approve sculpts from pics all the time and it's totally different than seeing it in person.

You are brave, man. Looks good again.

Thanks guys!
Too Much Garlic - I appreciate the critique and hopefully I addressed that in this pic.
Keep the comments coming and hopefully I can get this back on her body soon ;)

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is?

Oh... WOW... that's some major improvement already. Interesting that squaring the lower lip really adds more to her likeness. It's really shaping up. Honestly wish I could sculpt like that.

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is?

Great work so far, but i think (maybe its just the pictures though) that he chin a big too wide. When i saw the first post it actually confused me a bit to understand that was Milla.

I think in looks a little masculine...
Milla's, form the pictures you posted, have is more feminine.

Nose seems a bit different too, but its better the way you did it.
Leeloo is the perfect being so she is perfect.

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is?

Great work, but then you do great work, I am amazed at your skills. Can't wait to see the finished sculpt.

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is?

I admire the fact that you had it in you to resculpt that much of the face. Your new pictures look very good!

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is?

That's so amazing. i wish I had that kind of talent. Excellent work.

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is?

Thanks guys!
I feel a lot happier with how this sculpt is turning out. Though I'm still working on the head, I had to throw it on the body and get a couple of pics to see if it still works.
By the way, I actually started this new head from scratch and stripped the clay from the foam armature. The ends of the shoulders are gone for now since I needed the clay when I reworked the head.

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is?

I took a pic with a similar angle as a pic of Alice I found and did a quick composite:

The eyes on my sculpt may need to be enlarged, but since the spheres I used are smaller, I'm scared to change it.

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is?

That looks GREAT dude. I couldn't really see what was wrong with the first one until I saw this one. (I mean, I STILL don't know what was wrong with the first one, BUT I can see that it was something that you fixed on the new one - - - if that makes any sense. :lol)

Anyway, BRAVO, & I can't wait to see one of these done up as a Leeloo.

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is? Version II

I have to say I like both versions. Looking forward to the finished example

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is? Version II

Thanks guys!
I'm still doing a lot of minor changes and sculpting the ears.
After that, I can finally get some skin textures in there.
I'm a little apprehensive, but I think I will enlarge the eyes a bit more.

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is? Version II

Really nice....sculpting is such a pure art...

One thing to keep in mind is that without hair a woman's face can look more masculine, we just are not used to seeing bald women that often. Plus she was originally a model and many models actually have more masculine features in some ways.

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is? Version II

This is simply amazing. I'd love to have a few of those for various Milla characters.

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is? Version II

Any chance of some photos with the head on the body? :love

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is? Version II

Thanks again for the comments.
SithLord - I totally agree and Milla's face has so many variations which makes it more difficult trying to find a happy medium. In the Messenger, she looks very masculine compared to her other movies.
I believe the finishing (paint work/ make-up) is the one thing that could really make her come to life. So hopefully I, or someone more experienced can do this justice when I'm finished.

cobalt crimson - I'm pretty sure if this comes out well, besides Leeloo, I would do an Alice and Ultraviolet version.

jxwong - Sorry, but this is only a bust above the bust ;)
Believe me, if it was my decision, I would sculpt the whole body :D

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is? Version II

This looks great! That composite photo looks sharp. Fantastic work thus far!

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is? Version II

Thanks Simmon M!

Here's a pic with a little less harsh lighting:

I actually finished the left ear, now when I get some time I'll get the right ear done.
Progress is slow, but I've only had an hour here and there to work on this sculpt.
Not only have I had to work a 9 consecutive day work week, but two of those were 16 hour shifts!

Re: WIP My first female portrait sculpt - Can you guess who it is? Version II

That is amazing. The hair really makes it come alive.
