Re: Finally, my Alien Motion Tracker Build Thread!

Hi there, i'm slowly but surely gathering the parts i need for this build but was wondering if you ever discovered the origin of the sensor? If not, what are the dimensions you went with for yours and i'll try and scratch build!
Cheers,
A few more progress shots...

Unhappy with the ice trays I have, I decided to completeleley scratch-build the damn thing.

As far as I'm aware, the sensor has never been positively identified. The resemblance to a CRT cover is certainly persuasive, but may have been a long time diversion from what it actually is :lol

Do you have the Panasonic ranger TV? The best way to get an accurate idea of measurements is to scale it from the side profile shot of the tracker sitting on the table in the mess. I can measure mine, but that would be my reccomendation, it a long while since I did my build, I can't guarantee its accuracy.

Juts won a 505 on ebay for a great deal! Using your build as a huge inspiration for mine! I hope to 3D design as much as I can, unless you have a better source for some of the greeblies?

Well, at the least your photos should help me model parts! Biggest piece id love to nab quick is the sensor on the front, but it seems a hard thing to find...im OK with "close enough" so maybe ill use a very narrow funnel!
