I put one of the Ferris Bueller cars in Cancun a few years back...the damn thing was stuck in customs for a while because of the issue of it being a replica and not an actual Ferrari as badged, had to go through hurdles to get it cleared as filming prop car.

Stinking rich UK radio DJ Chris Evans recently bought an original "Ferris" 250GT Ferrari and it apparently cost him $15,000,000.00 :eek

But they did use a real one, for the dashboard scenes.

Probably no one wanted their real one to be driven wild and thrown upside down. That might be it.
