Little Galactica

Here is where I am at right now. I was really hoping to have a casting ready for Wonderfest but I don't know if it will happen at this point. I took today off to work on it and wasn't quite able to get the engine armors to work. I really need to focus on them this weekend.

I must say that I am not entirely happy with this study. Please consider it a maquette rather than a model. I hope to do better on the Biggie G.

I don't see how you could be anything but thrilled with what you've created there. I'm in complete awe of this. But, if you insist on being disappointed with it, finish it up and send it to me so that you won't be haunted by it for all eternity.

Seriously, you may just be too close to it (and at that scale, how could you not be?). What you may need to do is take a little time off from it so that you can approach it with a clear head.

Not only can't I wait to see this when you've finished it, but I am eagerly anticipating the large version, as well.

I think you're right about being too close. I think I was frustrated at not having the panels done today. It is really hard for me to NOT work on a bigger one right now. I can see how things will be done nicer on the larger one and want to see that treatment. I really hope to be done by Wonderfest though.

:cloneblue :D "Git 'er Done Coby. By the way, loved you in Revenge of the Sith.....wait.....that's your twin brother, right?

Can't wait for the large GALACTICA.

"SO SAY WE ALL.........."

You are too close to it. You're worrying about stuff that you just can't do in that scale. It looks good and I think it'll look better once you get some paint on it. You gotta know by now that you're your own worst critic...we all are to some degree. And yeah, there's probably things you could alter to make it better, but you might as well save that for the big one and just leave this one where it's at. It's already above and beyond what's available as a kit and personally I think it's one of your best efforts. Well, it's my favorite at least. I think I like it better than the Falcon. Can't wait to see this painted. Too bad you don't have time to get dry transfers done for the graphics. Maybe for the big G? Gimmie a call tomorrow if you get time.

Later :)

Hey Coby, it truely looks fantastic. I agree you might just need to step away from it for a bit though. Question though, I couldn't tell in the pictures...did you take pictures of the flight-pods extended or is it only closed? Looking forward to seeing the big G...

Hey guys, Thanks for all the encouragement and support. It has been very motivational. I took a couple of days off from it then put in more time today. I finally got the engine shrouds the right shape. I think I can fix most of what bothers me in a resin casting. Then I may consider doing my mold shrinking trick to get this girl obsenely tiny.

You know whats really sad...

All along I just thought that was a QUARTER for reference.

I just now realized it was a dime... damn...

Looking good.

I'm thinking of shrinking it a little bit to make it truely in scale with the existing Basestar kit. Then I am going to start on the 22 3/4" Galactica.

Hi Cobywan,

I had the pleasure of holding that beauty in my hand over the weekend...
Oh my...the details...the details...there were details there that my eye couldn't even focus on...

I was VERY impressed.

The engine grill is fantastic.

Did I mention details...

Bravo my friend.
And Thanks Again. :)

Hey Bill :)

It was nice to finally hook up and meet you and your family :) I need you to email me your snail mail address so I can send you a copy of the WF photos.

Joe
