And... just wanted to wish this (still active) thread a happy birthday! ;)

Goes to show how many props they used in BSG. :D

After 14 months, this was the final Propworx BSG Auction.

Feel free to continue posting any photos or information about screen-used/original BSG props in this thread.

Special thanks again to Alec, CEO of Propworx, for an outstanding series of auctions and for sharing the great photos of BSG props and costumes with the world.

Hope no one minds me resurrecting this thread but I've just started a website specialising in Battlestar prop and costume collecting. I'd really appreciate any pictures anyone has of the live auctions I can put online. I've seen some pics on photobucket from the day and the fantastic displays Propworx made but I don't want to put up anything on the site I haven't been given permission or for and cannot give credit for.

Please drop me a pm.
Cheers!

Here’s a query for those still carrying the torch for BSG.

The Propworx archive has been deactivated for years but does anyone have the photos, descriptions, prices realised anywhere? Since I’m still collecting, it’s incredibly difficult to get anywhere without the archive.

Maybe this is my error but I can’t get the links in this thread to work.

You could try the wayback-machine on archive.org, but don't expect much (if there are any photos it will be small ones on the main pages and not on the detailpages).

Cheers for the suggestion, I've had a go at it but it only seems to load a handful of pages. Everything else is just 'sorry I can't find that.... etc'

Did a quick read through of this thread and it seems Oldzey is the one to contact for your query. Have you IM'd him yet? If you don't receive a repIy from him, I have most of the Propworx eBay auction pages, images, and prices realized archived, but none of the original auction info other than the catalogs. What exactly are you looking for? Also, what's the URL for your website? I'd like to check it out.

I actually closed the site down a few years ago as it wasn't getting much traffic and I'd pretty much reached the limit of my website production skills! These days I'm still collecting whenever I can but basically its made it a lot harder when you see something, I can't tell how many versions or copies of it there are and most importantly, I've got no idea what it originally sold for. Also, when I'm selling pieces I can't demonstrate to people who maybe missed all of the original auctions that I'm not just pulling the figures out of the air!

I hadn't tried the IM route but thats because I've had VERY little luck getting replies to messages on here, maybe sent out half a dozen with no replies. Perhaps people just don't want to talk to me! I thought I might get a bit more exposure by posting here.

BSG Collecting, You did good just have to post all over the places eventually one or many folks will reply. BSG does have a strong following for both the original series and reimagined series. I means not Star Wars or Star Trek but at least there is a following. Many BSG collector only sell their screen used BSG items if they really need the money. Other than that you really don’t see them sell. There is always a few on EBay you will run into. EBay wording in the search Battlestar Galactica prop. Sometimes you will BSG Proworx items.

I wish I knew where the hardcore BSG following was, sometimes it feels like I'm the only one still chasing this stuff! I still haven't found it easy to sell some of my pieces.

That said, I know where the majority of my grails are and you're absolutely right that nothing seems to be able to shift them! BUT..... once I've finished my cull of non BSG Sci Fi pieces from my collection, we'll see if immediate CASH can change their minds! LOL

LOL.. Well i am a hardcore core BSG fan and i won't be selling anythng BSG because they are hard to find. Fellow BSG hardcore fans will hold onto their collectibles into the end time because simply they know its worth something to them and to fellow fans worth even more. Enjoy the hunt always fun to collect and obtain what you can. As the saying goes...The thrill of the hunt.... :)
