Original Star Wars Star Destroyer - Kits

I was looking through my parts, and I appear to have a lot of the kits used on the first Star Destroyer. Here is what I see:

Bandai 1:48 Panther G
Tamiya 1:35 8 Rad Panzerspähwagen
Airfix 1:144 Saturn V
Tamiya 1:25 Centurion
Tamiya 1:35 Matilda

There is more, but I am working from memory here. I know there are a lot of 1:700 battleship parts on it, but I haven't gotten to those yet.

Anyone have anything else?

Also, I know the main engine bells are L'Eggs, and the smaller engines are from the Saturn V.

Does anyone know where the doorknobs on top of the bridge are from/where I can find a couple?

Maybe have a chat with Eric (ckwanwoo) he's building her right now, he could be able to help you if he doesnt mind sharing his ID finds i guess, he's a top nice guy too!

Awww... I was hoping this would be an ongoing part ID thread... just like the old days.

I already messaged Eric, but have not gotten a reply yet.

Thanks Lee.

I quickly took a look at the model, here what I found :

1/72 Hasegawa Sherman M4A3E8
1/700 Hasegawa Ticonderoga (or similar Essex class)
1/400 Heller battleships (rails)
1/76 Jeep Willis (probably Fujimi)
1/72 Hasegawa Morser Karl
1/12 Tamiya F1 with Ford engine

Cant find more, I suck quite a bit to ID ANH stuff. :)

Also, on the back of the bridge, there are some small scale tank under-plates - looks like the Hasegawa Sherman, but the detail is not right. I thought FOR SURE I had these pieces, but now I am thinking maybe it is the Airfix Sherman. Also, I should add the Tamiya 1:35 Panther A. The Bandai Panther G is used EXTENSIVELY on this thing.

From other sources, there is the Tamiya 1:700 Gneisenau, and some very rare Aurora ship. I think also there are maybe some Nichimo ships too...

I asked Eric about the door/cabinet knobs he got for his SD, but he is not responding. Would anyone else know where I can pick some of these up?

Ebay... and most generally all over the internet... Just have to google that and you'll get good results.

I have done that and the closest I got was this:

It is a Liberty Hardware 1 3/16" Acrylic Faceted Knob. I can't tell if the facet pattern is correct though. Eric's look dead on.

Ok, now I found this on eBay:

This one is from Hickory Hardware, and is also acrylic, but 1.61" in diameter. This one is a 35mm, but Hickory Hardware also makes a 40mm one. I can't tell which one is right, so I guess I'll get one of each.

It's been a while, but I believe 40mm is correct. These are now easy to find and you can probably get one at your local hardware store (maybe not a super center like Lowes or Home Depot but the smaller places like Ace). Good luck! :)

This one has the TESB pattern. I'm not a specialist of the ANH ISD but I would go with the second.. 40mm sounds way too big for me, I would go with 30 or 35 mm, but as I said I'm not a specialist of the ANH stuff. I know my ISD (TESB scaled down) is more or less the size of the ANH ISD and I used 20 mm ones. But the proportions are not the same and the faceted globes are bigger on the ANH. And 30 or 35mm sounds good to me... I would wait for a reply from Eric. Better wait and save money than buy the wrong stuff IMHO.

Keep in mind though that the side that the big pipe sticks in was not originally finished, so some of the parts might not be original. The Tamiya F1 piece does not appear on the other side, and the Morser Karl is an ESB/ROTJ kit. It was not out at the ANH time frame.

I got the Hickory Hardware 35mm knobs in the mail today. They are a perfect match. I also got a prince of whales...
