Real Hovering Jedi Training Remote: FINISHED!

I'm in the process of making a second one using the more recent style floating globes that repel from the bottom rather than let it hang from the top. The style I used on my original one that I bought years ago aren't available anymore. The one I'm using also lights up wirelessly by tapping a spot on the base.

I should have posted it like this

Ok gang!! Halliwax here, I know I know I’ve been a ghost. The truth it things are finally catching up!!

I wanted to share with everyone my Jedi training remote I got from trent.

I’ve had it for a few weeks but haven’t had a living breathing second to do anything until tonight. Caught up on some things late tonight and am wicked excited to share this!!

So if your new to this, check out the link below to Trent’s first generation of the Jedi training remote for a brief history on how 10 years ago he made the impossible happen!

https://www.therpf.com/showthread.php?t=32765

He’s now improved it with freak’n lights!!

I’ve had this thing spinning since I got it a few weeks ago. One thing I left out of the video is I use it as a nite lite. I live in my parents basement... ok everyone stop laughing, it is a finished basement apartment. ... granted my living quarters looks like you stepped back in time to 1982 with the wood paneling, but I remodeled all the other parts so give me a break! [emoji6]

Anyway! It gets dark down here with only 1 window, so I put the lights on when I go to bed with a single tap and it lights up most of my living room.

When you get those late night pee emergency’s I now never have to worry about tripping over one of my bikes, or stubbing my toes on the corners of the door ways again! [emoji6]

Freak’n huge shout out to trent for doing this for me! It’s the most talked about piece in my collection. My mother is my biggest fan, and when I showed her she couldn’t believe technology like this existed..

Everyone who comes over thinks it some kind of trick, like there is a motor behind it, or it’s actually hanging from my ceiling... when I pick it up off the stand and hand it to them they freak. It’s also pretty heavy so you gotta see their face once they hold it for them self’s lol

Trent now has these in his Etsy store, I don’t know if I’m allowed to share Etsy store links but you can find it in the description box in my YouTube video.

This thing is out of this world!!

Thanks trent for making this happen!!!

Is it leaning a bit? He probably got swamped with orders as it is not on his etsy site. :)

No, your eyes are off-center. [emoji6]

I actually am not swamped with orders and that is 100% intentional. As previously mentioned I do NOT want to get into making a ton of these. I want each one to be hand crafted and special. They take a LOT of time, care, and attention, to the point where most people wouldn't want to pay what it's worth in effort to make.
So I am doing these one at a time at my own pace when I have free time, each one made to order. I listed ONE in the etsy store, someone bought it so I'm in the process of building it right now. Once I'm finished and it's shipped off, and I'm ready to do another one, I'll post one more on the etsy store.

Side note, I also upgraded my 3d printer to a really nice DLP printer so the print quality of the greeblies is now INSANE!
Here's a progress shot of the one I'm working on now to show the improvement of the 3d printed parts.

Just wondering if you will give any kind of heads up when you get close to posting one on etsy again. Just wondering how compulsively I need to be checking etsy. These are incredible.

My jaw fell on the desk, and hit the ground:eek I said to myself: Nah...must be a blue-screen trick (or a green screen one) But no, as soon as you hand was in the shot, lighting the remote, I knew I was looking at something incredible!(y)thumbsup(y)thumbsup

I can only echo what everyone else has stated thus far. I can understand that these are made as individual pieces, one at a time. You can't work in the individual touches if they were to be mass produced. On that note, are you going to be making these on and off or only a few and then stop cause I'd love to own one as I think many would here. :lol Also how high can it float? Does the strength of the magnet have any effect on it's altitude?

I'll make them here and there when time allows as long as it stays fun and relaxing for me and is worth the time and effort I put into them.
I really like the process when I can take my time on each one. I also really like to stay in communication with the buyer and send frequent updates and progress pics of their remote being built step by step. It kind of adds to the whole buyer experience and makes each one special. I don't know, maybe it's the Old School Replica Prop Forum mentality when licensed props were unheard of and all replicas were hand made. I also love that each one is unique instead of machined to perfection. It's literally kit bashing at it rawest form and these are made exactly the same way as the original prop, except of course for the added bonus that they friggin light up and really float! lol.

That all being said, I'm finishing up the one that was last purchased so it will be going out to its new owner this weekend. I'll listing the next open slot after I can print some back stock of parts to make each one a little more efficient in terms of turnaround time.

Stay tuned.
