Smooth!
Although, I'd be afraid one or more of those pieces might "grow legs". :ninja
Smooth!
Wow! Incredible! So, is there a stronger base with a correct sized globe to use for a more authentic remote? I have never been interested in a training remote, but that display makes me want one!
You are not alone :thumbsup
Trooper Trent, why don't you make this conversion 'to order' ?
I'm not really sure to be honest. I was kind of hoping someone with the knowledge about kit availability would chime in here. I've created threads in the Junkyard wanting to buy a remote kit and got no response.
I believe there were only 2 or 3 models used, but I think they're pretty hard to come by. So castings is your best bet. No idea who offers them.
That's an idea. I was thinking something kinda similar like the panels from the Tantive IV or maybe something out of the Millennium Falcon.
Does anyone know the exact size of the Training Remote?????
Only refernece I could find was one that said the Master Replicas was 6"
I don't know if you'd seen this thread but I thought I'd try to help out a bit as some time back I saved all of the reference photos I could from it.

Probably gonna order this. It's 5.5 inches with a great base to work with. Nothin on top.
Levitron Revolution
Be cautious of ordering that one. To be honest with you, I wouldn't go that route. The ones that float on top of the magnet are MUCH more unstable and require a much heaftier magnet.
Not only are you pushing against the weight of the ball, but all the weight is on top, which means it's top heavy and has to be MUCH MUCH more evenly balanced than if it was hanging.
Those are a lot harder to set and once you've started modifying it, if it isn't perfectly balanced all over, it will lean to one side, preventing you from setting it.
Trust me, I've done my homework. Played with these things for hours before deciding.
EDIT:
Oh yeah, the top hanging ones can also have more space between the globe and the mount. FYI. (magnets can pull from farther than they can push)
