Battlefront 2 Blasters and Props

Does anybody know what was used for the blasters that appear in Battlefront 2? I'm looking to do a NT-242 build for a friends birthday:

I remember there being A LOT of controversy around Battlefront 2's dev team being unwilling to add certain skins/appearances for characters because Lucasfilm wanted everything to be "canon" or "screen accurate." Does this line of thinking apply to the weapons as well? If so, I'm assuming the NT-242 (and other in-game blasters as well) appear somewhere in canon.

If anybody knows of a BF2 blaster build (aside from the classic stuff like DL-44 etc.) let me know, thanks!

According to the stub on Wookiepedia, the NT-242 first appeared in BF2. So it's never been on screen in any other canon media.

It resembles the Barret M82 .50BMG rifle, which was used on screen in TFA, by Grummgar, as seen in Maz's cantina.
