Childhood dreams become reality. I’m a 501st legion member with many Star Wars costumes. I also make other fun stuff for conventions etc. I have started a 3D print from MaxCraft that my buddy is printing for me. I am shooting for the Cival War version possibly. He finished the helmet and I am getting excited. I have found a maker for a helmet kit for electronics and face plate hinges. Pretty slick kit from MBI Indsustry. Seeing if anyone has any feedback on them. They look great and very complete.

I’ll be posting here updates as I build. Pretty Excited for this one!

Great project so far, I will start with my own Mk 46/47 soon. How is your experience with the MaxCrft files? Are they nice to print? Really interested since I thought about purchasing them aswell :)

Outside of the physical 3D printed parts (which Im sure you could cut/cast/make yourself)...

the rest of the stuff (hardware list & code) has been posted around here for FREE! :)

really an Arduino Pro-Mini (roughly $3.00 USB), and a servo is all you need (some random misc components as well, wires, heatshrink, voltage regulator, batteries)

Code works fine.. and has worked for 10000's of members here as well! :)

Might be worth the effort to check it out.

Oh awesome! Ive been looking and coming up short. Ill keep looking.

search for motorized iron man face plate (or similar)..

if still cant find it.. let me know. I'll dig it up (they are my threads!) LOL

So after a few failed attempts at friends printing this for me, I have got a printer and started going down the road myself!
Just got it all set up and starting to print a new bigger helmet, as the one I had was just a bit too small for the electronics to fit and was really hard to get on and off. Printer is up and running and I'll be updating soon.

Printing printing printing.
Working through helmet sizing challenges. It feels like it’s 2-3% too big but I’ve moved on to other parts.Nothing like 2 day print failures!
Right boot is almost done. Gonna work for the feet up.

The prints keep on coming! I have shins now! Sanding. Printing. Repeat.

I took a small break and made my wife’s Pepper helmet.
Just started the first thigh. 3 day print!
