Bandai 1/72 scale B wing Starfighter Special Edition WIP

Lots of details and greeblies over the area the decal would need to cover. Painting would be better. In fact the kit mentions that there is another set of smaller decals in case you decide to paint. They know the decals would most probably break over those smaller details.

I have the kit, really nice, I think is better to paint all the kit and use the other set of decals.

Took care of the pale blue painted areas. I matched the paint the best I could and the weathering will help to make everything mesh together.

Looks great! Yeah, I should have painted the wings too. The decals didn’t cover correctly and broke. Are there any pro tips on taking off decals? I think I’ll try paint.[emoji846]

Oscar , I’d like to know - because you’re painting straight onto the kit’s plastic - do you apply primer onto the area you’re about to paint onto , or do you just apply the colour ‘ neat ‘ ?
Either way she’s looking beautiful already .

No primer. Directly on the plastic and later will be covered with a clear matte coat.

Added the small decals to it and painted some subtle details specially on the wing cannons. Notice the brass color on two of the cannons under the cockpit. Ive been following the awesome images of the real thing in the Star Wars Chronicles book. Apparently they used some brass tubing and just left them like that.

On to the images!

Soon will start to add some selective washes and weathering. Stay tuned.

Thank you for the clarification my friend .
Just a follow up if I may , do you wash the plastic at all , or wipe it down with isopropyl in preparation prior to directly painting on it ?

:cheersGed

Nice progress so far. The ring of greeblies just behind the cockpit had been screaming for a wash.... It looks so much better all dirtied up.

Looks really good as usual. Do all bandai kits come painted already?
I have a bandai A-wing, but haven't opened the box yet. I've never done a Bandai kit before.
