1:2.6 scale snowspeeder for my daughter

(Sorry about my english, i am from Denmark)
So I bought a 1:52 revell snowspeeder, measured all the parts and scaled it up times 20 to 1:2.6 scale, that should be enough for my 3 test old daughter.
Then i started making the panels from OSB and plywood.

I reinforced the front end with fiberglass as it seemed a bit flimsy..

I added the cockpit made from stronger plywood and glued and screwed everything together.

EPIC FAIL!!!!

I built a base, attached the model and added a seat, then had ny daughter try it.. she loves it, BUT IT IS WAY TO SMALL!! There is no way she will fit if i add a canopy..

I am not sure if i should continue the build, any thoughts?

NO! There is no "Epic Fail" :) BUT... We DEF have another "Best Dad of the Year Award"

Finish up this current build while creating a new one for your daughter! This one is too good to simply abandon. OR... Just make the cockpit a bit deeper and maybe add some castors / wheels so 1) the wings wont hit the round and 2) it becomes mobile?

As said above, just make the cockpit deeper so she sits lower. The top will be accurate but the bottom won't but the deeper bottom may make the speeder look like it's floating like a real one would! Excellent work so far!

Yeah i Think i will do a bit more, there are still basic things i want to try on this, if nothing else my daughter can play in it with the canopy open..

next step is to try rendering the OSB with bodyfiller (2 part polyester spackel), and then build the cockpit and cannons.. i think i will hold on with finishing the bottom, in case i decide to take you guys advice and add a box to lower the floor..

maybe i will do a bit more tomorrow.. thank you for your input..

It looks too good to abandon. Take some artistic license... leave the canopy off, adjust the canopy dimensions, or do as everyone else suggested and lower the inside of the cockpit,

DO Not QUIT IT! It's to wonderful, you've gone too far to quit now. That's one lucky kid too. I will just echo what all the others have said adjusting the inside dimensions of the cockpit. Looking forward to seeing it finished!

Yeah! Just keep it open cockpit, just like so many other “kid scale” ride on toys. It totally looks the part.
