Any recommendations on 3D printing out a Scout Trooper Helmet?

There is one on Thingiverse, but it doesn't have the ability to have the face and hood to lift. Since we never saw the helmets in RoTJ open up, I'm wondering if it is necessary. If anyone can recommend a site to download (even at a cost) for an accurate bucket, I would appreciate that.

You could try and ask the original creator whether he could split the model like the real helmets instead of splitting it for printing as a complete helmet. Should be easy to make the visor and face separate from the rest of the helmet shell.

I just finished up printing this file: https://www.cgtrader.com/3d-print-m...ooper-helmet-by-*****-salmeron-3d-print-model

Very happy with the results, including flip up lid and snap together assembly.

$40 may seem high in the world of thingiverse free downloads, but I'm happy to support an artist doing good work, and you still can't beat a scout helmet for such cheap money!

I printed in Inland PLA on a Folgertech FT5. Sanded, bondo glazing putty, primer, sand, primer, repeat until it was smooth. Stickers I grabbed off of eBay, lens I templated out and cut from a welding shield.

Unfortunately he does NOT include the snout details... I got an STL from a friend that I printed on my Form2 SLA printer to get the details right.

Yeah. I saw that one after I printed out the one on Thingiverse. I should have waited, but I wanted to see how a helmet would turn out on the Creality.
Is the helmet size correct? Seems like there are two different standards of helmet sizes. Too Small and Large.

the size is very very similar to the efx. whether that is correct or not is probably another discussion :)

Hello there

Believe me, this is the right size of the screen used helmets. There's a lot of documentation work behind this helmet, and a lot of hours in front of the screen modeling it :)

Anyway, I was forced to make several changes without too much relevance. I imagine you noticed them.

I am very happy that you are satisfied with the result, and I hope you enjoy it.

Thank you.
