PLUTONIUM!

So after pulling the trigger on a “close enough” Anvil case, I’m ready to start my replica of Doc’s stolen plutonium case:

And here is a shot of the one I’ll be working on:

Below you can see the discoloration from grime and all sorts of junk compared to the top left edge that has been cleaned:

And some more clean/dirty areas for comparison:

With temps in TX at 101 and a heat index at 105 (by TX standards not too bad, hahah) there’s lots more cleaning to do but it’s going quicker than I thought.

more to come...

Sorry for the Pics, most will be taken with my iPhone just out of convenience, the final piece I’ll take good shots with my camera camera :thumbsup

Re: What’s in the box!?!?

Niiiiiiice, would like to do this myself but I have soooo much on I just cant justify anymore projects...... or rather, my wife wont let me have anymore projects

Re: What’s in the box!?!?

I was expecting Gweneth Paltrow's severed head in a cardboard box, based on the title (from Se7en).

But docs plutonium is still pretty cool.

The trunk is looking much better now after some scrubbing w/ vinegar, soap, and water. Onto taping off the metal bits and then painting tomorrow :thumbsup

Re: What’s in the box!?!?

Taped and painted:

Now to let it dry for a day or two. Then the part I always dread most when painting, removing the tape. For some it’s fun but for me its always a nail biter. Wish me luck, hahah.

Thank you very much KramStaar and DB537. Anytime a RPF veterans give a compliment, I take it to heart. Truly appreciative.

Over all the metal was pretty beat up and has a good amount of knicks in it, but I I love it. It also cleaned up well and the oxidation adds a nice touch of weathering all on its own.

After painting I did go back and touch up the all the corners with Tamiya weathering powders. I’ve also scratched and torn some of the stickers and given those some weathering as well.

Hopefully to try and finish lining it today and then maybe order me some plutonium ;)

Very cool. Saw your post on the RPF Facebook page. Not sure how I missed your thread here a few weeks ago. I'm a sucker for this case since it was my first build. You lucked out with a case with better dimensions than mine. Kudos on a great build.

Hey, Dox van welcome aboard. Thank you for the compliment on the box. I actually forgot I posted this, hahah.

Like MattgomeryBurns said, you best bet would be contacting the maker of the boxes. Possibly eBay?
