Thank you for any help! im 3d printing this suit https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1779274 for my son. But there are not to many instructions. I have one of the arms printed. But I cant figure out how to best attach them to the person wearing the suit. I tried putting foam inside but it keeps sliding up and down. I was thinking of adding this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2409748 elbow hinge I found for people with disabilities. But im wondering how the pros do it :)

How do you keep armor pieces in place when wearing them?

Im 3d printing this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2409748 iron man suit for my son. But there are not to many instructions and i cant figure out how to keep the arm pieces in place when hes wearing them. I tried putting a bunch of foam inside to make it tight around his arm but that still moves around to much. I found this https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2409748 elbow hinge thats made for people with disabilities but I was wondering how other people do this, Thanks for any help

I did a foam build years ago and i used straps and buckles that you would see on a backpack. What i did was i attached the shoulder to the chest piece then the bicep to the shoulder and used chicago screws to attach the forearm to the bicep. Hope this helps.

Re: How do you keep armor pieces in place when wearing them?

There are a few ways, from velcro to the under suit to having straps with either velcro or snaps to hold things in place. Elastic strips can help too, can even join armour pieces together with elastic, to keep them together and still maintain dexterity.

When dealing with an all body suit, it's best to have a dedicated under suit for it. To the under suit you can add the necessary support for the armour pieces to make taking parts off and putting on again easier.

Hope this helps

You might want to take a look at post #81 here:

Those magnetic snaps are incredibly easy to install, they come apart easily but are very difficult to pop apart on accident, and they allow you to quickly assemble and disassemble joints without tools. It made transportation and suiting up a lot easier too. They sell them at Walmart as well as fabric stores. Good luck with your build :thumbsup

That does help! when you sad a dedicated suit for under it. Do you think I could do that using one of does morph body suits?
