So for EGL-21 I decided this water butt would be ideal for his body. I'd been in my local hardware shop for other stuff and seen it before but then I wasn't thinking about this build. I went up and it was still there so I got it the most costly part of this droid to make lol £27.
It's around 4ft tall roughly.
Thanks seth I appreciate all of you and other people's comments it's always nice to see appreciation and interest it can help keep ya going at times ☺. I seen this droid as an easy and cheaper build option but ya still have to give it a good effort like with every build.
I had half the black ribbed piping that I bought for gonk's legs so I used those for EGL-21 of course smile.
But in pics he is mostly all grey where I've seen old gonk ones where gonk has black legs and feet so I went total grey on EGL-21 to add some difference between them which is kind of accurate anyway
Then EGL-21's little face section like gonk I used a baking tray this one tho is shorter and narrower I think it's around 5 inch tall by mabye 3inch wide approx not 100% sure but that's close ☺
EGL-21's body get a spray paint what a difference that makes I used the same colour as used for gonk grey matt spray paint a very nice finish indeed. This droid is only in the force awakens briefly but gonk isn't seen that much more really in the originals if honest.
There is meant to be a small sticky out bit at his top right side I've gone for a small light that flashes there the same type I used on gonk.
Looks fine and as normal a light here and there Brings life to a prop
Then bk onto his legs I've gone for a wooden pole I got in nearby local woods lol. Then cut it to 2 same sized lengths for inside each leg and added the remaining black piping I had left from gonk's legs over the top of them ☺

You get the idea ☺

This is his feet coloured in and holes in them for logs to go into before ribbed piping is put over top of them

Pretty basic I know but even easy things can be fun to make ☺
And that's his legs onto his body I just had to cut 2 holes at his base and since he had less material to cut onto I had to be quite accurate as this object is thin compared to the storage tubs used for gonk
He is nearly done EGL-21 was just going to be a quick build and to help bolster my starwars garden I'm gona create but I think he looks cool the matt grey gives him a cool yet nostalgic look ☺

I also added material to round bit on his face it was off a old stereo speaker to give it just that look on his face bit and sprayed it grey too. The round shaped bit sticking out on his face is just a small cut bit of plastic piping sprayed grey also and covered the end of it that u see with the material from the stereo speaker
