Hello guys, its been a while since i been on this site. I previously wanted to build the Ironman Mark 7, but now i will be attempting to complete an Ironman Mark 42 suit. This will be a journey for me. I will be starting off with the helmet of-course like most of us always start with first. Thanks to Tom Neverwinter from Thingiverse for the helmet file. I will be also attempting to model my own pieces, only until i save enough money to buy the complete file. :facepalm:D:cool I have already completed my own neck file on Fusion 360, and will make modifications on it to have more than one option. Well here i go. Hope everyone enjoys my progress.

Thank You. That is my daughter holding my helmet. She was helping me water sand pieces and wanted to take a picture with it. the helmet is going to be prepped for a mold. The inside is too bulky to fit. It should fit perfect on my head because I scaled it to the size of my Mark 7 helmet i made. Once I cast it, I will post up. You building an Ironman suit?

Ah, my mistake. Most posters seem to be the ones with/in their helmet. I can totally understand her wanting a picture with it if she helped out though.

I'm in the very, very early stages of an Iron Man suit myself. I like the idea of having a one of a kind suit, which got me looking into all the Iron Man 3 variants, and I kinda like the Mk 40, but it's too unique to be instantly recognized as an Iron Man suit. The more I looked at it, the more I realized I liked other features from different suits too. The result is that I'm planning on making a hybrid suit that wouldn't look out of place in Iron Man 3 but isn't canonical. Since it's not canonical, I can mess around with spacings and shapes a bit more, so I'm focusing on designing weapon systems first, then building the covering over it after.

Sorry I have not posted anything up lately. I have finished the Mark 42 helmet but have not painted it. I have so far got a chance to print out the Mark 42 forearm, hand shield, repulsor and fingers.

What is the paint in the 5th photo? Is it a special type of primer? Thanks!

For the red I am using Toreador red and for the gold I am using Harvest gold. I will be using another tone of gold for other pieces, but don't know which one yet.

Hey thanks for the info. What I meant was, in the photo where the helmet is dark blue, is that a type of primer? It reminds me of high build automotive primer, just wanted to double check what it was
