Ben ROCKS!

Just the droid and cannons to do, and it’s finished.

Ben is packing up Red 1 to come home. Looking forward to having it back in my hands. It was an amazing kit to build! Watching Ben paint it was a very enjoyable journey too!

Thanks to Mike Salzo and Jason Eaton for the great engineering you guys put in this kit. It was a pleasure to build! Special thanks to Ben for your outstanding painting talent! It turned out even better than I had hoped.
I cant wait to finish Red 2 and get it into your hands for another round of your incredible painting skills!

Obligatory, crappy iPhone pics to follow when it arrives, and is in place in my collection.

Exquisite work on both phases—construction and painting—thank you so much for documenting your build-up of Red Leader. (I read what akumazeto wrote and decided to chime in with respect to all! TGIF!)

Thank you, gentlemen. I’m taking a couple minor ‘lessons learned’ and applying them to Red 2’s build. It should be even better than its predecessor.

Just picked Red 1 up from FedEx. I discovered upon unpacking that the model has sustained some minor damage. The nose cone was snapped off, despite the fitted shipping cradle.
I have glued the nose back on, but it will need some putty and paint work. Ben and I have devised a plan to get this sorted out and back to 100% in short order. Stuff happens, I guess.

Im going to remove the wings, glue and putty the nose back on, and ship it to Ben so he can repaint the nose section and blend it all in.

Great service on Ben’s part! I couldn’t ask for better! Thanks, my friend!

On the bright side, the pictures that have been posted of this model don’t do it justice. Ben outdid himself!!! It’s amazing (even without a nose)!!

Pictures after the repairs are made.

The front really DID fall off!
I’ll have this fixed and back to Ben for repaint of the nose in short order.

Gorgeous paint job though.
