High Rise Industrial Tower

Hi!

I am working on a small project since last Monday.
It's the model of industrial tower building which can be displayed in a middle of a living room.

This is the base of the model tower.
It is a manhole cover which had been used in our back yards.
It is nicely rusted and jaded.
The overall paint job should be taste like this.

The tower will be bolt on it.
I put four wheels which I pulled off from a retired TV stand.

The main structure is made of 1 cm thick acrylic plates I bought from the shop at an odds and ends sale.

I planted a hundred of soft orange LEDs.

OK,

Then I flipped some kit parts baskets on the desk top to see what I have.
Since I built the last kit bashing model for over 10 years ago, those parts were almost forgotten.

Looks like here are some tank parts, German 88 flak parts, some battle ship, cart, and a starship model of an old movie.
That was the one made me feel sick and tired of building it and threw it away more than ten years ago.

Kitbashing is very fun but the way I haven't chose for a decade.
I am hoping that I still remember that certain rules and senses.

Well, let's try some.

How do you think?

While I'm foraging over the parts on the desk, I found a couple of parts that I think it will be useful if I have it many.
So I tried to duplicate some more.

I used a handful of Sculpey to make a molds.
Apply a little bit of water on the parts and put some Sculpey on the parts and press it and spread.

And I baked it.

A bit over baked but it may be OK.

Put another Sculpey on the baked mold and press it and spread it.

Peel off from the mold and chop off the overhanging cray and trim it.

Maybe enough for the time being.

While I am impressed by the cool piece of art, I am also cringing at the thought of cutting up my Fine Molds Falcon to do something like that :lol

It works though!

Very interesting…good use of the Fine Molds Falcon. But is that a Robby the robot upper body part I see there?

Mark

Thank yo very much, Darth Humorous-san (I love the name, Mark-san) and I guess the parts are wheel housing of German 88 mm flak gun.
Please enjoy parts detection.;)

Reminds me of a Blade Runner building

Thank you very much PHArchivist-san and that is it.
That movie is still inspiring me so much.
I guess the tower is called Sushi Tower?

Thank you very much blakeh-san. Of course you should not do that.
I just didn't have enough patience to complete this model.
However, that was so painful idea to bash this great kit but also I know I will never gonna finish this model and I don't like to leave this parts in a box for nothing.
I hope it worth for bash it for this tower.

Yep, very BR building for sure! Eager to see the rest.

Thank you very much, joberg-san.
This model is the homage and tribute for that great pre-CG movie.

Wow, that is really coming together. Looks like it could be a movie prop. It makes me think of some kind of platform you might see on Bespin in the industrial area

Thank you very much. How is your angel doing?

She is great. She is looking forward to summer vacation and her birthday pool party.

I know it's an old cliche, but time goes by in the blink of an eye. One day they are babies, the next thing you know 10 years has gone by
