Hey, all...

Since I have been costuming as Rey for 3 years now, and since I have been infected with REYLO trash... I'd decided it was time to also make myself a Kylo Ren costume!

I took about a year to slowly build this. Having made one for Hubby to get him into the 501st Legion, I already knew what I was about. I had begun with the Black Series bucket that hubby used, but wanted my very own, so i went with the FANTASTIC BB Props/Artisan FX bucket, and could not be more pleased with it.

I also use a Korbanth crossguard saber, and boots from Imperial Boots. The rest I made from scratch myself.

These all show the Black Series Bucket and the Korbanth Saber.

And this was my first shot after the Artisan FX finished bucket arrived.

And a few shots of the costume at Motor City Comic Con this past week.

thanks!

The surcoat and cowl are made from the Ya Ya Han "Apprentice Weave" fabric, which from what i understand is a slightly more economical version of the JJ Industries fabric.

The sleeves and tunic are made from black cotton canvas duck, hand pleated. the sleeves are attached to an under armour undershirt, and feature the full length underarm zippers.

the pants are coated stretch denim.

I also coated the sleeves with Otter Wax, and the cowl and surcoat with a combination of Mod Podge, black acrylic paint and water, brushing it on lightly with a fine hair paint brush

thanks, Psab!

I do agree... i have loved this costume since I first saw it, and was a bit bummed Hubby was doing it instead of myself.... so i eventually had to correct that. :p

I like his TLJ costume much much less. There is something about the austerity of the helmet that i prefer, and the cowl and surcoat seem far more interesting to me than a cape.

Yeah I'm not crazy about his Last Jedi costume either. The surcoat with hood and helmet is almost priest or monk like and I love the texture of the basketweave.
