XTC-3D. applications beyond prints?

XTC-3D is a product produced by Smooth-On. It is a two part epoxy like compound that is designed to be brushed onto 3D prints to give them a smoothed and polished finish. I have held prints it was used on and it is pretty amazing. My question is, have any of you used it on materials other than 3D prints. I am thinking it could be a nice option for sealing and covering rigid materials like wood and composite to obtain a perfectly smooth surface.

Why is the smooth-on Epoxy so expensive then? Just customers who think they don't have an alternative?

what is BJB? and what is their smoother/sealer product? found it. Their prices are pretty comparable, though smooth-on has a smaller option for $25, that is not available through BJB.
