I've been busy painting. Using all Archive-X paints and really just copying John Simmons' paint job. The colors were collaborated on the archive-x Facebook page by Guy Cohen and others. Sorry, not sure who to give credit to. Started off with DS Surface Grey as my base coat, which was just slightly lighter than the Tamiya primer.

Next used a lot of latex masking and LT Green. It looks really bright at first, but gets toned down.

I then knocked down the tone of the green with a nice coat of Grime. I love this color. We were just discussing on FB how Grime takes on the color it's next to. It totally appears as a minty green over and next to the LT Green.

Next, was painting the darker green panels with GN Grey-Green. After masking the areas I used more latex. This time I used a stiff toothbrush to apply the spatter effect on the left wing well. Looking at reference you can tell that they lightly sprayed over it again with the same color after peeling off all the spatter. I then hit this area with a coat of Grime again.

Started the skirt by latexing where my base coat will show throw. Then Hull Pink to give the lady a nice pink skirt. Then I latexed where I want to maintain my pink. Then hit it with Boxcar Red. After I paint the dark stripes on the front and back I'll dull the whole shirt with Grime again and she should look just about right.

What latex are you using? I only know of the giant tubs of the white stuff you can find at Michael's.

Thanks Blakeh1, Joberg, and Slynger. I truly appreciate that. I am having so much fun painting this. I've been prepping and practicing to paint this thing for a long time. I've gotten a lot of help with the colors and techniques from Guy C., John S., and Lee R. They have been so open to sharing what they know. I'm in debt to them.

The Archive X colors are so rich and smooth. They are spot on to the originals IMO. I should mention they are an extremely durable paint also. Once they have dried they are not going anywhere. Definitely not peeling up with tape or anything.

Armor Yellow under Reefer White has such a cool effect. I wish the camera picked it up better. The 8rad parts are Armor Yellow, Boxcar Red, and a hint of Reefer White. I may hit them with a little rust in the end. Inner well is DK Lark but will probably add a little Engine Black later.
