I found a vintage mini Mauser cap gun toy online. Cool thing was, it wasn't the 1930s magazine model, but the 1896 model. and the bolt moves and everything! Well, it used to, its gunked shut now.
with hand tools, a drill press, dremel and jigsaw, i decided to cut up a “mount” and add a bull barrel. The barrel is an industrial punch from a stand up hole puncher, the old ones with foot levers. Granted, the barrel on this thing is shifted and mounted weird, so the fact I found anything that slid over it was a miracle. I figure the punch end can be the “booster” under whatever flash hider i mock up. I need to putty the edges a bit..
the mount... i found a few knurled thumbscrews in my junk drawers and went digging through my metal scraps to find flat bar that was 1/3 the width of the magazine and some right angle stock. I used tiny drill bits and dremel cutting bits to shape this darned thing. I even sat a cutting bit on the top to make a cradle for the “scope”
this is a weird cap gun - the hammer used to cock and dry fire before i drilled into the body and e6000-ed the mount on
