3d printed lightsaber

Hello everyone, new here. A while back got a 3D printer and decided making a screen accurate lightsaber would be a great project. I have the files but am having trouble finding information on how to turn these in to fully light up sabers. Printing and finishing the lightsabers are fine but i can't see how to put in the blade or electronics if the model is solid or what the best cura settings are to use. My other thought was to quickly print the lightsaber then make a silicone mold and cast the in resin for the weight and strength but again am finding it hard to work out how to get the blade and other parts into the hilt. If anyone has any information they can share i'd be really thankful.

Hey @Day Spartan ! Welcome to TheRPF! If you want to make a FX saber, you should hollow out your model in your 3D program before printing the pieces. Most sound boards are under 1" in width so I'd make my cavity at least 1" in diameter. You can get the measurements of the electronic parts you intend to use from most of the manufacturers' websites.

You'll want to learn about creating chassis for your electronics. You can make them with parts at TCSS (The Custom Saber Shop) or since you're already into 3D, you can make your own custom 3D Printed Chassis.

There are lots of forums out there too for you to sift through and there's A LOT to learn before you get started.
