New project... waiting on new releaes like the B-Wing

The AT-ST is an all terrain scout transport. A vehicle with decent fire power used for scouting and ground force attacks.

Cheers! It was lower on my list to get, but once I started, it became one if my faves.

Same here... I had with my snow speeder on my list... That still needs to get completed... This has been much more fun to build. The weathering is going to be the most exciting part for me...

Looking great. How good is it to put the head on this thing? It comes “alive”.[emoji106]

It's definitely a good feeling... Just test fitting the head at the moment. What amazes me is the engineering behind these bandai kits... No glue needed...for the most part.

Stage one of weathering... Giving it that greasy, dirty feel. Adds character and through many layers, it adds realism. I use oil based paints for my weathering.

Looking good but be careful with the oils if you are using white spirits as this kit is notorious for badly reacting to it

Looking good. Just the right amount of washing/weathering

Thanks for the kind words!

I use an odorless oil paint thinner for the wash... Seems to work ok.. Been using it on all my Bandai kits with no issues so far. Hopefully it transitions to the perfect grade Falcon I'll be getting next.

I used Weber Oderless Turpenoid on mine and did not have any issues

On a side note, there are "water mixable" oils. They are a true oil paint and work the same way as oils, the only difference is, you can thin/mix them with water instead of Turpentine or the oderless turpenoids or other traditional things.

I find for doing filters though, I still prefer Weber Oderless Turpenoid to thin, but for just slathering on and wiping off, the water kind are comparable

I'll have to see what brand I picked up. I bought it the other day from Hobby Lobby. Which, on a side note, they carry some bandai kits and it's where I got my AT-ST. The local shops in my area do not carry Bandai, unfortunately.

I really love working g with oils for weathering. Their versatility is amazing with the ability to be cleaned up relatively easily off of the acrylic paint base.
