Yes, that's $9K in real human dollars. :lol

I watched that video and at the end when it was all put together I started laughing maniacally. SS should stand trial for robbery of everyone that pays them $9k for this thing. It's an absolute joke how they showed off a 1:1 Vader you couldn't buy at Comic-Con for years, then finally advertised it for sale, then abruptly pulled it off the market because they were "re-tooling" it and now this is the final product they came up with many years later. Honestly I don't know what is more embarrassing...SS offering that for sale or someone putting it on display in their collection. For less money I put together my own that looks like it walked right off the set of The Empire Strikes Back. Yes it took work to acquire all the pieces and put everything together, but the end result was more than worth it. Here's a video for anyone who hasn't seen it or wants to do a fun comparison. ;)

Yeah, like you said, one could do much better for a third of the cost. It's not the worst I've seen, but grossly overpriced even if it was perfect.

I don't think it looks too awful. Much better than their attempt at Boba Fett.

Between the time and effort most people who can afford life-size figures will opt for Sideshow. Their well known, licensed, and you don't need to do research or know the right people.

Absolutely absurd, just ridiculous......you're better off buying a Rubies Supreme for $500 and a $150 mannequin before spending $9000 on this.

I have four Hot Toys sixth-scale Rogue One action figures. I have K-2SO, the Death Trooper Specialist, the Jedha Patrol Stormtrooper and Darth Vader. They all blow me away! :D I couldn't imagine having a gigantic action figure that is the size of an actual human being in my house. It's a tad unnecessary although I do applaud anyone that takes the time and money to try and make one for themselves. ;)

Agreed, it’s not terrible, and for the market they’re selling to, “good enough.” As in, plenty of Sideshow buyers wouldn’t be able to spot any improvements that might be made to make this more accurate. So why would Sideshow bother? In short, it’s not for us. As has been said many times, getting separate pieces and putting one together yourself is the best route for both accuracy and value, but I think the target demographic for this thing is probably people who have plenty of spare cash.

Vader's cape and tunic on this life-size action figure looks like it was fashioned out of a black garbage bag, how atrocious!

Exactly, Jagjaguwar. Here's my 1:1 Fett. It's still receiving upgrades so it's a work in progress. I've probably spent close 6K at this point BUT it's taken over 5 years now. Now, SSC's is 9k but I only have to wait a few months? I don't need to deal with 15 different vendors, different painters, etc. It's just reality that there are people willing to drop 10K on a Vader or Fett that want something to sit in the corner of their man cave!

The suit looks like shiny pleather......

The cape and robe look like cheap nylon type fabric......

9k buys you a LOT of velcro it seems.....

If it was about 5k i'd say, "ok, yeah, that's pretty good"

Hahaha...is he wearing some plasticbags on his arms and legs? This thing looks so bad..my good old rubies- jumpsuit looks better as this cheap plasticbags.
This thing is not worth 2000 $.But people with too much money are often buying bad stuff because they have no clue what they also could also get for their money.

I don't think I could contain my laughter if I went to someone's house that had this. Cause you know that person would think it was the greatest, most screen accurate, thing out there. That, & knowing they would've paid over $9k, with shipping, to get it? No, I'd laugh myself out of the house. :lol

It looks pretty nice for something that I would consider "mass produced". Price point for me is impossible, but for folks who have the $$$ and don't have the time to do a full 100% screen accurate suit...GO FOR IT! Why not?

This is impressively bad if you know what your talking about... But then again any average guy off the street would know who it is. The only thing I can't justify the price point. Just rediculous for something especially of this quality! The only thing I can admit to is that they can get it out all at once and in decent time, unlike the Vader I've been working on for about a year now and have little to no work done (mostly because my Fett got in the way ;) ).

I´m kicking myself for not buying the Anovos soft goods when they were still available.

Maybe the packaging is what drove the price up.

um- this is an esb vader? why is the inner cape over the armor? Did sideshow not put it together correctly in their "instructional video"?

It's got the ANH saber - I'd be interested in seeing that up close (to see how inaccurate it probably is)...
