U.S.S. Nelson 1/1000 scratchbuilt

Looking FIRST RATE! So envious of those who can scratch build. I can add stuff but I need to start with something in a kit box.....
 
Coonstructing the two decks of the midship and the bridge.
2nd try. The 1st one was too high:

To get the right shape of the rounded side parts, I use a paper tape.

Draw and cut at the edges and use it as template for the plastic sheet.

I think she got more Federation style now.
 
Electronics and all lights done. Glued the top plate and the ship is closed - "rien ne va plus"…
A quick light test all seems to function :)

Ablative armor plate on the underside of the ship is done.

Next: Add some missing details like RCS thruster ect., light blocking and base colouring (I have no clue for the colour scheme yet).

This is beautiful! I've been thinking of jumping into building from scratch and I thought of ships from STO too! Would you be able to tell me how you would go about in making something like the saucer sections on the Enterprise A and the Oberth class ships as I would love to make them like you have made the Nelson except I don't know how to achieve the shapes and curves with styrene.
