My Star Wars props showthread....

This is a showthread of my prop builds for myself and others. I'm going to add to it little by little. Thanks for looking!

Here is a vintage Luke ESB build that I did for myself. I was lucky enough to get my hands on a really nice early Folmer no patent Graflex for a great price. Both red buttons are vintage and I used Roy's Wannawanga grips, clamp card and Kobold for the Wampa Cave scene setup. From what I see from the screenshots, the grips more than the Kobold are not lined up to the control box. I would like to, at some point, replace the clamp card and Kobold with the vintage parts.

I love that you did the unlined up grips/clip/clamp! I’ve been toying around with doing the same to mine.
It's hard to not make everything perfect. I still think I could have made the more out of alignment.

Here's another vintage Graflex build. This is a Luke ANH on a 'Graflex Inc.' with some accuracy mods. I used Roy's Wannawanga grips, a vintage d-ring from the Slothfurnace run, a correct Folmer glass eye and a real vintage Exactra bubble strip. I am looking for a Folmer lower half and some smooth pins to finish it off.

Sorry if i missed it - but was there any PROOF that the ANH was a Folmer?

Aside from some peoples "believings"?
I think that conclusion came from the screenshots showing it had a Folmer glass eye. As far as I know there's no images of the bottom stamping or clear shots of the pins to prove that it was a Folmer.

Thanks, seemed i missed that. Maybe you have that pic at hand?

I´m asking as i have a spare Folmer glass eye that i could swap in on my ANH.

But those parts are easy interchangeable while building some props at once (thinking of 3-5 disassembled Gs in the middle of the table and grabbing the firt part to put it on), so i wouldn´t pay to much attention to such, not until there is more proof.

I agree. There's an interview where the set designer said he bought a box of them from an antique store in London.

The promo shots show the eye better. You can see a defined angle instead of a curve/radius. This is more associated with a Folmer and as well as a skinnier top edge.

Wow, this is the first time I've ever heard this mentioned and I always want to say something to the people who do builds of this saber... the grip/clamp line up on the prop, in almost every pic I see, is completely out of alignment.

Obi Shane of Nerfworxlabs just did a really nice all vintage ESB with the grips out of alignment so people are doing them. I guess it just depends if you study the screenshots or just go by the blueprints.
