X-Men Gambit costume advice

Hey,
I’m currently in the planning phase of a gambit costume and and want to make the chest peice a spandex muscle suit instead of a peice of foam or plastic (for maneuverability). And I was wondering if anyone had ideas on how to make the silver piping around the edges of the chest Piece?

I was thinking of using a foam tube that had wire in it to pose, but I couldn’t fined any that were the right size.

I recommend hitting up a big-box hardware store (Home Depot, Menards, Lowes, etc.) and checking out vacuum tubes. I used them for some Star Wars X-wing pilot chest box pieces I made a while back, and (if they were cut in half length-wise) they would be about the right size. For attaching them, you could cut chunks of 1/2" EVA foam, stick them along the interior of the tube, and then fasten the foam to the spandex via a series of snaps.

Auto parts store and get wire loom wrap. dunno if this reply is to late lol.
