NEW (OLD) MILLENNIUM FALCON from SOLO the movie

I don't understand how people have such a hard time understanding "body kit and interior decorating". Han "de-restoring it back" is not remotely unfeasible. He's a hot-rodder. Assuming the body kit survives Solo-the-film, I can see Han ripping it all off and the black floor plating, too, the better to access all the workings, since he won't wan't to fiddle about removing and replacing every single time. As for the upholstery, suppose he just doesn't like yellow. :p

Well I am sure we all know the real reason for such a continuity error....mechanizing. If the M.F., just looked the same it wouldn't sell as many kits and toys. Its given me an idea though. Since I have the Bandai P.G. 1/72 kit and the Fine Molds 1/72 it might nice to do the FM MF since its not as accurate as the P.G., kit in pristine condition for a change of pace. I am not as crazy about its "hockey puck," look so I could pass it of as just a Corellian Freighter with less miles. :)

...Though I am amused by the speculative thoughts that came to mind with "mechanizing"... ;)

...And a crew of Jawas... The beef many of us hardcore nerds have with the flatter 32" Falcon is that there isn't enough room inside for the full-height interior. The Gunwells would be almost touching -- no ladder tube, the smuggling compartments wouldn't fit, the top hatch wouldn't have a lift, the floor and ceiling maintenance accesses in the main hold wouldn't fit... In addition to all the existing issues between interior set and exterior model. *heh* The ring corridor in it's current official placement to portside already won't fit in the 5-footer, less so in the 32"...

Another thing about the MF I didn't like was classifying it as a freighter, it just seems all wrong. It always reminded me of a B17 or B24 bomber with its gun turrets and cockpit style. I think it would have been more interesting for a back story that Han or Lando bought as war surplus from some past war. They could claim that the ammunition's compartments is where they smuggle goods and the turrets would come in handy against other smugglers interested in what they carried. Alaska uses small piper cubs and WWII planes to deliver cargo so as theme for the MF I think it would work. Just a thought.

There were better options than the pod on the front. It streamlines the look of the ship, fine. But if they didn't want to use the docking ring/pods they could have re-tasked the center gun-wells. You would have quick access to the center of the ship making it an ideal place for an escape pod. The pod would either be used in the movie or Han tears it out to place the turrets.

This would solve the problems of a Jawa sized pod at the front of the ship and the fact there's no airlock in the main hold area.

The pew-pew cannons could have been elsewhere for this film.

They had lots of options for predating the Falcon, just as they had for showing it 20 years older in TFA. Not too crazy about what they chose to do but it's done and I might as well roll with it.
I am glad they did make enough changes that a new tool would be required for the Lando version, if it was just another antenna swap out and a few greeblies I would give it a pass.

Its about 12”.

Dissapointed that its a very soft vinyl plastic....bordering on rubber.

not good for sanding. :(

I also bought this along with the build and play kit...
I was pleasantly surprised that this 12" had folding landing gear, and much thinner sidewalls than it's similarly scaled value line predecessors...only to be completely dismayed that the entire front wedge part is made out of nerf material...UGH.

The build and play kit is actually a ton of fun! I can't wait to get some time to paint it.

First time also to see a Chicken Walker in a more dynamic movement. Its like being drop?

yup, well its about time, I can't wait for those juicy falcon scenes from this movie, even if the movie plot turns out to be bad i dont mind at all, the falcon is more important for me :D

the escape pod rocket looks like a Saturn 5 F-1 Engine
